than you must have to update your drivers for all of your hardware start from the mother board or chip set or many other has to be done even the wireless n card or modem or even need to flash your bios as well or just a few other like vid card driver or just need a disc clean up or registry restore ... who know`s ? i`m not sure i just started to use pc for about 6 months now , before i was running on mac so , i had over heating on m1625 and otehr issues even total crash on hd huhhh

I'm of the same mind. Lack of firewire has been a killer for many a notebook. However, we're starting to make our transition to HD video from solid-state storage and firewire is becoming less important. --- Still, I totally understand your dissapointment because I share in it!

Well yes and no... New notebooks don't have PCMCIA slots, they're equipped with a single ExpressCard slot. I typically reserve my ExpressCard slot for a Yoggie device or other high-bandwidth unit. The point being made is, "why should I have to use up my ExpressCard slot to get the funcitonality of a port that should be standard equipment?"

I loved the design of this notebook :), its a little big for me, but an m-series notebook with that design and a better graphic card would be perfect :]

You COULD technically replac the video card, but finding the card you want and somebody willing to sell it to you is problematic.

I do like the design, but yes... it is a little big for my liking. (Though the screen and keyboard are VERY beautiful!)

This really isn't a gaming machine. You COULD run games on it, but any modern FPS is going to choke. (though you could probably get away with WOW at a decent resolution.) Peace, Fr. Robert

i never really understood the need for hdmi outputs... usually the laptops that have them already sport fairly large screens. Maybe for a projector I could understand.
