She is so gorgeous and so is her voice. She has such a pure clean sound. When I was in my twenties I had a huge crush on her and I still do. What a smile and those country outfits she would wear with her hair behind her ears. WOW
We miss Suzy Bogguss. A beautiful woman with clear country voice. Sadly, I gotta agree with the critics. Although her sound was great for the early 90s, its too straight forward country for today's younger "Pop Country".
wtf ever happened to her .....all the greats fizzle into memories..this is when country did what it was meant to do..its sad when it says its sad..suzy boguss and pam tillis and k.t.oslin were the true pioneers of country..miss you bisches!
Nancy Griffith is a great songwriter. But Nanci is nowhere near the singer that Suzy Bogguss or Emmtylou Harris are. That's why they had hit records with Nanci's songs and Nanci didn't. Nanci's voice is shrill and grating at times. Suzy and Emmylou's voices are like angelic choirs. So take off you Nanci Griffith blinders. Nanci is a great writer but not a great singer.
@Crottinger Can't you just accept that they are all great artists, they are all different and appeal to different people. Enjoy what they all have to offer and Get a life !
Has to be one of the most talented, and most beautiful, singers of all time. Her songs are as good, if not better, live, as in the studio. Plus you get to look at this gorgeous woman!
The original version by the writer, Tom Russell, seems to have the best flow of the lyrics...a bit more of a punchy story that Suzy's homogenization. (and I admire Suzy's abilities)
@storm071970 Let me clarify so that perhaps you can understand. The way Outbound Plane is written the words are syncopated that is very unusual and almost behind or ahead of the beat than the standard format for songs. Each song has a pantameter. This song uses a much more syncopated and different type of pantameter. Perhaps if you were a songwriter you would understand. Thanks.
I don't think Nancy G would be too upset with that version. Lovely effortless vocal delivery. Could have done with some better backing vocals in chorus though IMO.
love the synchopated rhythm. OOps, if I've spelled wrong.

well she just misses her phrasing at times. Pity about the false cowgirl accent at times (listen to her on the recording version)

This is a very tough song to sing vocally. It has tons of words to spit out . That Nancy's writing style. Suzy nails it, I think she is a doll.

the sweet Suzy Bogguss, had some of the nicest legs in Nashville in the 90's. I agree with Chet Atkins, she not bad to look at!!!
