  • Typically, however, the baler would not only be running hay through the baler but pulling a hay wagon around the field in addition. Doubt that a B could handle both....

  • @civicinsult

The "B" could pull both a baler and wagon on a level, flat field. If there are any hills there is now way it could pull both.

  • I eventually want to cut my 45 acres for hay. I have 3 A John Deeres, I was thinking i'm probably going to make square bales out of it. I guess later on I will get a two cylinder with live pto and power steering. Wanting to get a 70 or 720 or 730 diesel.

  • I was told that the JD does not have enough HP to run a sq. baler. I guess you have dispelled that myth!

    Great vid!

  • @jstrunck Balers don't use up that much horse power. Glad you like the video.

  • @jdb48 I see.

Is the JD B rated at about 40hp? One day, I am going to buy a fully restored JD B or a 630 and use it to work 40-50 acres.

    Thanks for posting,

    John

  • @jstrunck

The model B is rated for about 28 horse power.

  • @jdb48 a 20hp tractor will run one
