  • @70sman4ever I agree..70s was the best time :)

  • Luv it, baby : ) How I wish a had a GOOD man to enjoy such delights : )

  • Fabulous music ... music of the heavens . So much of the 70's and 80's music towers over the insignificant "pap" of today.

That's because real passion and commitment can never be replaced by what's

    inferior.

Bring back the love and the passion!

  • The music today is more musick

  • I loved cranking this as I passed everything on the highways in my 1972 Olds Cutlass..man could that rail ever get up and dance!

  • the 70s were good up to disco ( about 1975) then they sucked till mtv came along in 1981 and killed disco. to those to young to know mtv originally played noting but rock music.black artists complained they were being shutout by the format (not true if black artists played rock) their record labels backed them and threatened mtv no more videos of rock if they did'nt start playing their other artists too. so mtv caved and became the garbage you have now.

  • @TheBabyboomkidof53

I heartily disagree... disco was terrific, too... I loved it, and still have many favorite songs from that era in my 45 collection... that's right, my 45 collection... :-)

  • @ShadowsGathered their was no integrity in disco, it was like rap today....it requierd no talent or art. all you had to do was have a dance beat and good moves to go with it. the only people I knew who liked it were white females born after 1958 or blacks. the vast majority of white males deplored it.

  • @TheBabyboomkidof53

BS, white guys didn't like disco because they couldn't get any pussy from those white girls in esscence because they couldn't dance worth shit.. And most American Rock sucked by the mid- to late 70's and Hard Rock as a genre died out until the mid- 80's. So spare me that crap , Rock -n- Roll is "dance music" . There was a whole lotta white male racism going on in the 70's, the problem is record companies signed anyone doing a 'disco record" and they went under.

  • @ShadowsGathered Gee...I love you!!! You're absolutely correct, too by the way.

  • @TheBabyboomkidof53

MTV was being racist and they didn't play any "Black Rock" EITHER or because I watched 'Emptvee" in it''s early days. Bob Pittman the original producer said the people they were programming to ( Red State white racist rednecks) didn't like Black People or wanted their music played on the network. So he played the AOR rock format because Warner Brothers (who owns MTV) it wasCBS when they told MTV they would take their acts elsewhere they played MJ videos.

  • @TheNewsoul2 you must have been watching a different video show then mtv because old film clips of jimi hendrix were played regularly. as well as the chamber brothers ,and others. plus one of the the vj's, j j jackson was black. those groups played rock so they got played. as for disco you can date its rapid decline (almost overnight) with the start up of mtv. they stopped their rock formatt only because michael jackson's record label would'nt allow them other videos unless they played his.

  • @TheNewsoul2 mtv also played old film clips of chuck berry and little richard. thats why I think you must have been watching some other show because these clips were played regularly. you could'nt have missed them if you were really watching. sounds to me like your just overly sensetive.

  • @TheBabyboomkidof53

Oh wow, they played old clips of Chuck Berry and Little Richard, no they didn't, I had MTV in the begining and they did no such thing. So either you are lying or feeding me a load of bullshit. And don't tell me I am being oversensitive because you don't know from a can of paint.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheNewsoul2 I know for a fact they showed an old clip of chuck berry doing his famous duck-walk with his guitar scooting across the stage playing johnny b goode the first week mtv was on air.your the one lying or bullshitting because you have taken a position and want to protect it. but your wrong. my father always said, "you can always tell a fool.....but you cant tell him much." there be you. besides if the original mtv did'nt like blacks how do you explain JJ Jackson as one the video jocks?

  • @TheNewsoul2 MTV NEVER played black artists when it started...FACT (and anyone who says differently is either ignorant or deluded) so you're 100% correct!!

  • @70sman4ever 2

    Don't forget the 80's

  • This was #1 airplay when I was born.

  • when I was running we used to have one gym day a week where we'd try to lift improbable weights with pipe-cleaner arms then walk our coach's dogs at the park and come back and wait for him to finish his popmobility session - so basically this song reminds me of a load of guys with sideburns dancing around in lycra.

  • very good

  • was this the song where ABBA lifted the drum beat for "Dancing Queen"?

  • Yeah baby I dare any of these new young performers to try to play something original and this good.

  • i wish i could of lived the 70's im only 22 and i collect every things 70's such as vinyls, movies and automobiles ect . everything about that time frame is amazing. :) i love the music the most.

  • @challengertc The truth is when the 70's was happening we all thought it sucked compared to the 60's. Everybody was sitting around waiting for the next Beatles. But in retrospect is was quite great.

  • the riff is the best

  • smh my young ass. how about i thought this was a woman singing yall. lol

  • the music today stinks and sucka?

  • 1975 funk

  • Man oh man, what a great song and great memories. This takes me all the way back to eighth grade, where all of life was ahead of me, with all that potential. I distinctly remember dancing for the first time at formals, all the ladies dressed so beautifully. I felt so grown up. I think it may have been the time when I mentally married music- like this great song- together with romance and magic times. Not much can compare to it these days. How I long for it again!!! Cheers!

  • IDK why but this is good music to toke to :)
