I hate it when someone survives an operation and says "Thank God". How utterly ungrateful and egotistic. I guess the skill of the doctors had nothing to do with it, and as if they're so very special that God would intervene to save their life, but happily do nothing while a hundred thousand die in a tsunami. He's not giving an argument - he just speaks of a personal tragedy that was luckily avoided with the help of fellow human beings. The only reason to dislike that is if you hold an ideological idea higher than the well-being of your neighbour, and want him to die for challenging it. Humaneness is rarely highest priority for dogmatics, but this is little short of militant fundamentalism.

I have had several surgeries and I have never had an NDE but I am not sorry for that. I do not want to die before my time but I am not afraid of death because I know where I am going. Every experience is different . Some years ago I was in a very bad car accident , and I could recall my second grade teacher . I had not seen her in some twenty odd years ,but during the accident there she was in my consciousness clear as can be .
