  • I can't recall being told that Jesus was born on Dec.25. I know it is the day set aside to commemorate His birth. We celebrate His birth to give thanks & praise to God for bringing Salvation to us. It is not a "birthday party". "If Jehovah wanted us to celebrate he would have told us" ? Did He tell you to come on YouTube? Why then did you come? Then you are breaking His commandments because He didn't tell you. I don't see it in the Bible where He told you to come on YouTube. ....Silly argument.

  • I agree with a few things; Its true it was a pagan worship, Christians need to be Christ-like, and not allow strange doctrines and rituals to permeate our very foundation. If we are lukewarm with all kinds of celebrations God will spew us out. The only remembrance Christ admonished us is the breaking of bread (Luke 22:19)...This is my body which is given for you: this do in REMEMBRANCE of me..., and not His so called 'birthday'. Why cant we just have celebrations that are not controversial?

  • even though my children do not believe in santa i want to share with others why santa does have something 2 do with Jesus the truth is there was a Christian man called St. Nicholas every year around Christmas he would go to orphanages, hand out gifts, and tell them about the greatest gift Jesus if you teach your children about santa be sure they know the true St. Nicholas and that the other stuff has been added through the years to commercialise

Are you sick in the mind? You can hold on to whatever you want, but just realize it, is because you love it, and not because you love him.

In so many place it tells you about these traditions in the bible, and especially in Jeremiah10:1-4.

St, Nick was a decent guy, however, he was doing God's work by being whole hearted. And he is not for you to compare or use to justify why you cling to this pagan holiday that has become dear and near to your heart.

  • question what is the feast of dedication Christmas does not have to be pegan EVERY day belongs to the Lord thereare also verses in the Bible that tell us not to judge one another just because they esteem 1 day over the other Jesus' birthday WAS celebrated with gifts & worship PLEASE people don't take Christ outta Christmas

  • evewale"

This tradition has nothing to do with Christ and never has--the tradition predates Christ.

First century, second, nor third century Christians celebrated this holiday season. We know this because certain saints recorded different traditions and holidays of the church in their writings. Christmas and Easter aren't mentioned at all. This is not something that early Christians celebrated. These are all pagan traditions that were merged by Pope Julius to help pagan convert easier.

  • you sound so legalistic when Jesus' birth was celebrated with gifts and worship also Jesus himself mentioned and celebrated the feast of dedication everyday we should glorify God especially days that satan tries to make his own this is the day that the Lord has made

  • evewale"

You are seriously uneducated. I hope your age on your profile isn't so, because you are to old to not actually research what you practice.

This holiday on the 25th you are about to celebrate, existed way before Christ, and the gift giving was in a tradition that already existed with it.

Why do you put the gifts under the tree? Because they use to put sacrifices and gifts etc. under it to show respect to the idol. It clearly talks about it in the bible.

same reason why the settlers who came to America outlawed it and fined anyone who practiced it. They knew what the tradition was. It wasn't until the early 1900's that Christmas started to breach it's way into society through famous stories and plays, Charles Dickens writtens mostly. And then eventually the Sunday School association pleaded to at least let them use the day to teach of Christ because it would be a good, way to include the message in and holiday mood setting.

Justify for yourself all you want, but the holiday never had anything to do with Christ; these traditions are mergers of pagan practices.

    Yule log is pagan

"12 days of Christmas" they use to sacrifice a person each day of the celebration ending on December 25 where they would have a festival etc.

The tree Jeremiah 10:1-4 is pagan

The question isn't if it's wrong, the question is how wrong do you see it.

Justify it for yourself if you like.

  • i'm so thrilled that you feel you know enough to tell someone else that they know so little

i'm well aware of the pegan feasts but am also aware that Jesus' birth was celebrated and am happy to celebrate Jesu's birth with my family again what is the feast of dedication in the Bible? did Jesus mention or celebrate this feast? and what time in the year is it celebrated? it seems that you would have answered this in my past comment but you do have a tendency to overlook my questions

  • @evewale

Justify what you want. Self-justification is a common practice among Christians nowadays, so why should it be any different for you, right.

    Happy Pagans Day!

  • Merry CHRISTmas

  • ummm don't wish me that. thats for pagans, and I do not participate in pagan traditions

  • According to John1 Yahushua were born around September during the feast of tabernacles. John1:14 say that the word became flesh and tabernacled among us. Yahuwah our Father does things according to His feasts.Yahushua was impaled on Passover day. He accended and the saints received the Spirit baptism on the feast of Pentecost.

  • tell you the truth! That's very sad. I know about Jehovah's Witnesses very truth. Charles Taze Russell,...He was Baptist then Free Masonry then He founded "WatchTowers" magazine. He passed away in train car on October 31 "Halloween Day" That's the fact. Then Joseph Rutherford founded "Jehovah's Witnesses". You better find out more!

  • Maybe Christ was born in April?

  • I give you a five *****. And the reason. It gave a witness. :)

  • It is true Christ was not born Dec. 25th but that was the date he was concieved! He was born in Sep.! This is documented in the W.O.G..Such is evident when we know of the Jewish Holydays.Such is evident when we know John was born 6 months before!Luke 1/Num.6:3

  • so you admit it is a lie, Jesus would have no part of a lie

  • Wow, I didn't realize this was another belief of JW.

Look, Jesus CAME to the Earth. That's all that matters. He was born here, and people brought Him gifts. In fact, when someone is saved, they become "Born again." Jesus speaks about being born again, and how there is a great celebration in Heaven when someone believes in Christ.

There are a lot of traditions even YOU do that they didn't do in the Bible. That doesn't mean it's wrong. Anything that brings glory to God.

  • Its is pagan tradition and back then Bdays were invovled with supersticion and God doesn't wnat anything super stition involed with his son.

  • @gaberuski True. I believe these Christmas haters are influenced by Satan. He hates the evangelising of the virgin birth of Christ & to see people rejoicing. He loves to see death & destruction, people in distress etc. They are his prophet in sheep's clothing, they are NOT Christians. You shall know them by their fruits.

  • Catholic power all the way!!!!f** christians!

  • someone's visiting a confessional this week. and catholics are wrong, you guys think mary was a virgin her whole life, she wasn't. jesus had brothers. and she wasn't holy, she sinned just like the rest of us.

  • Dude that is so true about mary. She was just a reguler person. In their church they have an idol of her in their.

  • no youre completely wrong why wouldnt we celebrate the birth of jesus christ. he was our savior why wouldnt you celebrate that.

  • Because that is a Man tradition. We should only do Bible beleifs and tradition. No where in the Bible says someone celebrated his B-day. Even if Jesus' disciples had known the exact date of his birth, they would not celebrated it because "The World Book Encyclopedia" says, the early Christians "considered the celebraton of anyone's birth to be pagan custom. In the Bible it speaks of 2 rulers who celebrated their own B-day but they did not serve God.

  • Quick question. We shouldn't celebrate Jesus' birthday because we don't know for sure what day he was born.. that's understandable. But we know what day we were born. Why shouldn't we celebrate it?

  • Good question. In the Biblle it speaks of only 2 people who celebrated their B-day and they didn't serve God. Another thing is that back in Bible times Jesus's disciples knew that B-day celebrations were conected with superstition. Many Greeks and Romans of ancient times beleived that a spirit attented the birth of each human protectiong through out life. This spirit had a mystical relation with the god on whose B-day the person was born on says the book"The Lore of B-days"

  • God deost't want any superstition linked with Jesus or any one else

  • and one more thing, the bible clearly stated that ishmael and his mother were thrown out for not honoring isaac on his birthday.

and god didn't punish abraham for throwing isaac a birthday party.

so why should jesus' birthday be any less important?

who knows exactly when it happened, but the point is to honor the savior.

because times change and things don't stay the same.

and again, how many people do you know get beheaded at a 14 year old's birthday party?

  • notice that he coincidentally didn't reply to your comments.

  • doesn't matter... as long as he understands the value of the opposite opinion :p

  • oooo, and while i'm on a role: isaac's birthday was celebrated.

remember, he was weaned at the age of five and they had a big feast for him. doesn't specify when but it did correlate with the fact that he was older.

there's you another example of a good birthday.

i hope this opens your eyes and your heart.

  • and also, why is it that two bad examples of birthdays in the bible should outrank the billions of good birthdays in human history?

were there any other birthdays in history where a prophet or a cupbearer were beheaded?

that's a minor point. the men ordering the deaths of the innocent were wicked. not the birthdays themselves.

rejoice in the fact that you're alive, sweety.

  • i'll give you points for being historically accurate on the fact that jesus wasn't born in december :p

but i would like to point out that even the scriptures say the day of jesus' birth, the angels were telling people to go and acknowledge him and celebrate the day he came into being.

but naturally, that would take a side-step to all the good he did as a human being.

and you can't commemorate a person that's never been born and lived life. why wait till someone is dead to celebrate them?

  • If you don't belief not to celebrate christmas or any other birthday take this in mind. Where in the Bible does is it say that one of the Apostles or Gods servant celebrated their own birthday....Now tell me when a bad King or Pharaoh celebrated their B-day. In Genesis when the the paraoh of Egypt had his B-day he did not had a nice one. He had deaths at his. So what does this teach us.

  • where in the bible does it say they didn't?

  • They didn't because "The World Book Encyclopedia" says the early Christians "considered the celebration of anyone's birth to be a pagan custom and Jesus' disciples don't do that stuff.

  • "the world book encyclopedia" is not nescesarily right. find anywhere in the Bible that says it's wrong, and I, and all my friends will stop celebrating our birthdays. besides, your avatar is Gaara, and he's POSESSED by a DEMON. i'm sure the bible doesn't say to represent yourself with people posessed by demons. I'm sure that they didn't watch TV at all in fact. does that make it wrong? and even if birthdays WERE considered pagan, they aren't anymore.

  • Certainly they are. One needs to think! Just like the wonderful illustration in the Bible Teach book. If you found a delicious-looking piece of candy and were about to eat it, and then you realized it had come from the gutter, would you be so anxious to eat it then? No. Same thing with practices that LOOK appealing and "pretty" on the outside (like xmas), but are actually all from pagan origins and are totally displeasing to God because it's from false pagan religion.

  • wicked.. they they put sheeps!

    typos ftw

  • Jeremiah 10:4,5

With silver and with gold one makes it pretty. With nails and with hammers they fasten them down, that none may reel. They are like a scarecrow of a cucumber field, and cannot speak. Without fail they are carried, for they cannot take any steps. Do not be afraid because of them, for they can do nothing calamitous and, what is more, the doing of any good is not with them."

  • Jeremiah 10:1-3

"Hear the word that Jehovah has spoken against you people, O house of Israel. This is what Jehovah has said: "Do not learn the way of the nations at all, and do not be struck with terror even at the signs of the heavens, because the nations are struck with terror at them. For the customs of the peoples are just an exhalation, because it is a mere tree out of the forest that one has cut down, the work of the hands of the craftsman with the billhook

  • Do Not Bear False Witness - What would you call lying to your children about Santa Claus? How can you ever expect your children to believe in God and Jesus, something they have to have faith in and "trust" when you have already shown them that you can lie about "trusting" in Santa Claus?

  • Goo job! I totally agree. No one should celebrate Christmas. If you believe in the commandments, you especially shouldn't! Do Not Covet - Christmas teaches children to covet the gifts of other and to look at Christmas catalogs endlessly wishing for things they think they have to have and then dragging their parents through stores in the name of "the Christmas spirit." Parents are then left paying off the Christmas Bill for the next year to come.

  • Now I hear what you are saying kind of bruh, the big thought on the reason for the day is that was most likely when the Wise Men came to Jesus. As for celebrating it well I agree that the resurrection is more important, but we can't not be in aww of the fact that Jesus the ultimate good and pure being decided to lower himself to the level of his creation.

  • Yea you have a good thought

  • Good research and effort though. =)

  • Really, christmas is just used to say "yay for baby jesus" and "yay, santa will bring us presents" Its like a metaphoric thing to personify the idea taht the way jesus was born and ended up giving his life for us, so should we give to others.

  • hahaha . not to bash you, but does anyone care? I mean, christmas was apegan holiday, which was celebrated in rome even after christianity was deamed the religion by Constantine. It was picked because of its joyous festivities, so we use this to celebrate the birth of our savior. Easter and an exact date is used to celebrate his death and rebirth.

  • Easter and Christmas are from pagan theoy and worship, it is all wrong.

  • like i said, its the ideals that are put behind them. WE could celebrate these things any days, but they were chosen on those days for their already festive attitude. Plus not changing the pegan festivals probably brought in more support for converting the the church.besides, if you have any info, i am interested to see how you prove your statement that Easter is pegan. It doesnt count if it was pegan before jesus was resurected on that day.

  • I was about to tell you how right you were in your video.

But if you're going to be all Pegan hating you can go fuck yourself in the ass.

  • Amasing.. you got quiet some research in there! Another question i have: why do people say that Jesus was born in 1 A.D? That doesn't make any sense to me :s. If our timeline starts at Jesus birth it shouldn't start 1 year after his birth... But anyway good job! Can't wait for you next topic!
