I think Maynard's voice sounded pretty damn good in this video. He hit all the notes clearly. He's just not as intense anymore. Which I can accept because their shows are still awesome.
When listening to opiate and undertow there's not a whole lot of evidence of danny's future potential (such as this). i'm thinking his study of the occult had a major influence on his mastery.
i just saw tool at camden last night...disgustipated07 couldnt be more right...the music, the visuals, the lazer light show it incredible. and when u think of who is in front of you on stage playing it...nothing like it anywhere
My favorite Tool song!!! Thanks for posting it! Maynard might be getting old, but the dude still has it! Who can replace him? You can't.... plain and simple.
Unlike most of you guys I was actually at this show, and I thought it was really boring. My friend liked it, but of course most tool fans have this feeling of "higher being" at Tool concerts, as Maynard is so fucking wasted on acid that he doesn't even realize he's playing a concert and basically just whines random sentences that fans somehow consider deep. Fans like him also like to think that the lyrics have a deep spiritual meaning only they can comprehend, which is hilariously pathetic.
@mofrisky111 They are finally starting to come together for the new record. Danny and Adam are writing material right now, Maynard will finish the lyrics once they have all the material written. I would say we won't see a new record until early 2012. Keep in mind they began the early stages of the writing process way back in March of last year, so we could see it sooner, but I would guess not till next year.
tool and apc in the next couple years there goin start to drop certain song from live setlist cause he said he cant do it on prolonged tours, he one show once in awhile he can push himself but on the road constantly . out of the 6 times i have seen apc and tool, maynard was sick once, worst show, the band plalyed great but vocals sucked and part of it could have been the venue. I heard alot of people say it was a good show but you should have been at the george, wa in aug 06. i felt bad 4 them.
@British0Pixie FYI bro, they havent performed Ticks & Leaches in like 8 or 9 years. He never does any of those good old songs that are hard on his voice. He doesnt even sing the last part of Vicarious anymore.....which is bullshit. And who cares how tall he is...he's 5'8, one inch shorter than the average male height in the United States. Just sayin bro.
@British0Pixie I get it, my bad for callin u a bro.....sorry. But im callin bullshit on u bein friends with Adam Jones. If thats true then give me news on the new album....i mean if your such good friends with AJ you must kno somethin.....
@mediatesilent Yeh, I don't really expect him to belt out half-hour screams (slight exaggeration) anymore but he can still sing songs like The Patient just as well as he did in '01.
@mediatesilent It's true that his voice has changed and he doesn't seem to be able to hit the high notes like he used to. In an interview with Carson Daily he said he is no longer capable of what he used to be able to do. However, I feel like his voice is fuller now and he can go deeper than he used to in the past. The dude is almost 50...

Although this is a great video, nothing can capture what it's like to see Tool live. It's an experience unlike anything else

you can tell from maynard's movement and the intensity of danny especially, that these guys really love the music theyve created.

I've got an idea for the sickest dark-prog-metal tour ever.....Tool & Opeth with Evergrey as the opening act. I'd sell my soul for such a concert.

Insane great performance and Maynard doesn't need to pushit that much they should still perform H. Pushit and Parobola

@VividlyConquered BLOODY GOOD CLIP IN HD LOVE, CHEERS!
I think Maynard needs to tone down or cut back on performing songs like Ticks & Leeches
to preserve his voice before he starts developing polyps & loses it all. As much as I believe
Tool would never be Tool w/out Danny Or Justin, losing Maynard (the little "Tool" that he bloody is)
would be disasterous if only because he writes such fab-tastic lyrics that mind f*ck you with ever verse.
He is a rather arrogant prig for someone so short though

@nolson4062 o_O Wow, thanks for all the info gurl.
I wasn't aware of all that, but being a Brit GIRL who is almost 5' 10"
myself, he is rather short for a bloke. No worries though, TOOL will always
ROCK.
Oh, and FYI, I'm a rather good friend of Adam Jones, so I'm well versed in most
things regarding TOOL but as far as performance choices and the such, I don't
trouble myself with minute trivia. Just sayin' gurl.

@nolson4062 Hmm, me thinks I smell a trap here.
If I say nothing, I'm full of shite,
but if I spill all then perhaps I betray a friends right to privacy.
Whatever shall I do? o_O
I'll take the high road and value my good mates. Sorry to disappoint you.
But keep in mind. "Famous people" are just like you and I. Just normal, everyday
blokes. ...well maybe Adam isn't so normal, but you get the point. (I hope)
