love them!! Just saw them today in London ( where we all live) Ont. at the Western Fair Carousel Room for an Olympic Induction Ceromony. I was singing there with my choir. I took a picture with Tessa and got her autograph!!!! She is sooo beautiful and kind! :)

Really gifted skaters. I love flamenco for its drama and rhythms, and I know that flamenco dancers wear these beautiful, long skirts. But in ice dancing, sometimes (and I am thinking of 2002 Olympics here) sometimes the skirt was the focus, rather than the dance. And with skaters, because they are moving so fast and doing all these difficult moves, I think sometimes a long, especially full and ruffled skirt, can hide the skater's lines. Just a thought....Let me hear others' opinions.

I'm a winter sports enthusiast (skating & skiing) from Colorado, USA and watched a lot of 2010 Olympic coverage on TV.

The MOST BEAUTIFUL thing I saw in all the coverage was Tessa Virtue standing on the Gold Medal podium singing Oh Canada!

There's a difference between Ice Dancing and Pairs skating. It are two different disciplines. This is Ice Dancing, the couples who peform jumps are pairs skating. In Ice Dancing, you may not jump, for as far as I know.

oh I had no idea that ice dancing and figure skating are two different disciplines. I just looked it up and ice dancing is described as ballroom on ice wheres figure skating has more acrobatics. so is figure skating considered the more challenging sport?

mmm I've just seen like 10 Virtue Moir videos here and they don't do any triple axle toe jumps or whatever they're called? I remember seeing other couples doing those jumps so are maybe it's not a recruitment in pairs figure skating? someone educate me.

Pairs figure skating involves jumps, spins and throws. This is ice dancing and the whole point is for a couple of look as if they are dancing on ice. Watch how close their feet are, how creative their lifts and how in sync their movements are. Excellent ice dance teams look totally together every step.

I don't deny it, of course, but look at one of the russians, in the girls: she did a floklore dance. It wasn't perfect, but it was funny and quite unexpected, compared to the one who won with a James Bond medley (I love her performance, though).

What I'm saying is that they did a gorgeous thing, and I loved it, even if flamenco is quite a common place.

In "Enchanted", Amy Adams sings about how, "he'll take you out dancing just so he can hold you close.." What sets Tessa and Scott apart is that they obviously LOVE to hold each other. This is ice dancing defined. The other ice dancing couples were great, but these two so completely blew them out of the water that they should have invented a platinum medal, just for them. And I'm a dyed in the wool American. Canucks, be justly proud of these two. And if these don't get married, it's a sin.

It's amazing the kind of chemistry they have! Watching them skate their gold medal dance was just so amazing to watch! They say they are like "brothers and sisters" but it looks a lot more than that on the ice. Wonderful!

As a Spaniard I feel very honored that they chose to skate to what is without question our traditional dance. I already liked this pair from the start, after that performance I love them! This is a version of the flamenco routine that put them way ahead after the original dance -- last night they did a beautiful freeskate in white to blow everyone away! I love their skating soooo much! BRAVO!!!
