I think, at least to me, the main idea behind White Nationalism is to preserve white culture/race. If you look at the numbers, white people only make up 8% of the worlds population. They used to be around 35% in the early 1900s. White birth rate is only about 1.4 children per couple, and this results in a population decrease.
Also, look around if you want some modern evidence... mutliculturalism IS a culture that strips us of any ideas of culture specific to our own race... and it is a White culture, because it only truly exists and is supported in White countries, which should be obvious, since they are, by a vast margin, the countries that are mostly immigrated to.

As for the reason behind preserving the white race; it isnt something that needs specific reasons and rationale for. I think, at least to me, the main idea behind White Nationalism is to preserve white culture/race. If you look at the numbers, white people only make up 8% of the worlds population. They used to be around 35% in the early 1900s. White birth rate is only about 1.4 children per couple, and this results in a population decrease.

Xomniverse, the main idea behind white nationalism is racial preservation. Racial preservation means preserving your race 's genetic makeup unique to itself as well as its physical appearance. Point 1 - Culture
A culture grows organically from the people (race, nationality, ethnic group, etc) just as art is the product of the artist and reflects what is inside the artist.
"Multiculturalism" is unsustainable over time. One race will dominate, displace, exterminate or assimilate the other(s). I will assume that liberals favor "assimilation", but the final result is not "diversity", but rather simply monoracialism with hybrid origins.

If race did not cause culture then Asian or African architecture would look like what we inherited from the Greeks/Romans. Also, they'd have built ships like we did. Because they copy our culture when they are immersed with us only proves these cultures are distinct as to race. Can you explain why parts of a city that are considered low-income or the "Ghetto" are predominantly black/latino? Blacks came from Afrika (and Australia, and maybe some islands I don't know), yellow skin came from Asia, and white is in europe. No need for genetics. If it's about selection, then of course it's about genetics! What else is in selection? Certain alleles (genes!) are more favorable than others depending on the environment. For example, bacteria that have genes that enable them to resist antibiotics will become dominant in that population. Maybe we should preserve green eyes and perhaps all the other species that are threatened by human actions. Why not? Where is the rational conclusion to drive it into extinction?

Let me elaborate further, I ran out of space. History of human races does make it important. Ask the native Americans, ask the Inca, ask the Aztecs, ask the black slaves, ask the Europeans butchered by the Huns, ask the Ainu about the Asian immigration into their land (Japan.) The struggle for people to remain distinct and free from foreign influence is a dominant theme of history. Even Gandhi had racial attitudes who typically was critical of blacks.
