Its like saying, "who are you more loyal to, your parents or God?". We're loyal to both but God is, without a doubt, FIRST priority. But God tells us to be obedient to parents, so parents become second priority (even before we can choose). Similarly, God tells us that we have to be loyal to our nations. So loyalty to religion brings loyalty to nation.

Hui Chinese as an ethnic group were formed in China as a result of inter-marriage and conversion. They are scattered around China, and reside mostly in the Northwest and the North. You won't be surprised to find a prosperous muslim district in the major cities in the north,such as Beijing and Xi'an. I grew up without seeing any muslims in those neighbourhood being killed.
