This is how I learnt the names of all the leading politicians. Its a pity today's aren't so easily recognisable, there's about three who are identical.
@tbdkuphk1:14 is very simple - Tony Benn, the informal leader of the looney left, challenged Neil Kinnock for the leadership some time between 1987 and 1992. Ken Livingstone was also one of the key figures among the looney left, and in Spitting Image he is often shown with Tony Benn; you can watch "News at Benn" sketch to get an idea of what they were like)))
@tbdkuphk not sure about the other two, but the Heseltine thing is with reference to a time in the seventies when he picked the mace up and brandished it at the labour MP's on the government benches.
Great! I haven’t seen this in 20 years, since I saw it in a documentary about Spitting Image. BTW I would thank anyone who can recall politics of that age and can explain what’s the little story behind the scenes on 1:14, 1:21 and 1:31 (Involving Kinnock, Heseltine and Ken Livinstone, respectively).
@ErnieandBert1 I believe it is Leon Brittan, as the voice is different to Nigel Lawson's. Lawson was also portrayed as having a mole, which this puppet is lacking.
It's creepy to see the muppet heads on the human bodies. It would have been really difficult at this point in time to put the two together (one would think so anyway because there wasn't the ability to use computer graphics back then)
P.S. Why is Sir Alastir eating a rubber duck at the start of the clip?
We need a Canadian version of this show. All the great characters Stephen Harper, Michael Ignatieff, Stephane Dion, Jack Layton, Guilles Duceppe, Jim Flaherty, Lisa Raitt, Rona Ambrose, Ruby Dhalla, Rahim Jafer, and Helena Guergis
Thanks for uploading. Somewhere in the attic I have an LP which has this on which I've not heard for years. But even that doesn't have the last 30 seconds of this (I think). Keep up the good work!

You know, being an American, most of this doesn't make a lick of goddamn sense to me. But oddly enough? It's still hilarious to me somehow.

@abominableangel, it is Edwina Currie. She was portrayed as a vampire throughout the series.

Also @ 1:23 Leo sounds like he's being voiced by Hugh Dennis but he didn't join the show till 1989.
Very starnge that!

Interesting song, Harry Enfield,John Sessions and Jessica Martin are all heard in this song but none are credited.
John left the show in 1986 and Harry wasn't even involved in this series. But Jessica Marting was involved in this series.
