  • commons of house... looool

  • LOL, love it. 'Thank you, that's an honour'. Really shows American patriotism.

  • Drop the mace and wave it about!

  • i love david owens dance

  • 1:05 epic hip-hop reference right there

1:27 epic Harry Enfield reference right there

  • @Backalleydoctor Wop your wads on the countah!

  • This is how I learnt the names of all the leading politicians. Its a pity today's aren't so easily recognisable, there's about three who are identical.

  • @tbdkuphk 1:14 is very simple - Tony Benn, the informal leader of the looney left, challenged Neil Kinnock for the leadership some time between 1987 and 1992. Ken Livingstone was also one of the key figures among the looney left, and in Spitting Image he is often shown with Tony Benn; you can watch "News at Benn" sketch to get an idea of what they were like)))

  • Who is the one with the red bandage around his head?

  • @Alexanderpetrov1990 Norman Tebbit

  • @Alexanderpetrov1990 Norman Tebbit

  • @tbdkuphk not sure about the other two, but the Heseltine thing is with reference to a time in the seventies when he picked the mace up and brandished it at the labour MP's on the government benches.

  • Thats rap with a capital C

  • You know, being an American, most of this doesn't make a lick of goddamn sense to me. But oddly enough? It's still hilarious to me somehow.

  • Great! I haven’t seen this in 20 years, since I saw it in a documentary about Spitting Image. BTW I would thank anyone who can recall politics of that age and can explain what’s the little story behind the scenes on 1:14, 1:21 and 1:31 (Involving Kinnock, Heseltine and Ken Livinstone, respectively).

  • 1:01 dancing win

  • Bring Back Spitting Image to the Great British Television Set!

  • Is it just me, or was the Edwina Currie puppet very sexy, especially with the voice?

  • @goldstar226 HMV

  • I love this, I have it on my iPod

  • 1:42 Break it down, David!

  • pause at 1:45

  • this is what relly happens in palriliment

  • lol at Norman Tebbit knocking out Ken Livingstone at 0:49

  • @goodgunnerwenger : I didn't notice that at first viewing. Funny as hell. Would like to see it in reality! :)

  • @ryanhitmanfury Another funny Tebbit moment is when he starts playing basketball with an MP's head at 0:35.

  • @goodgunnerwenger Ha!! Well spotted. Tebbit always was a hardnut!

  • @goldstar226 2nd hand video stores probs

  • I have this on my iPod! Anyhoo... I've heard ITV are considering to make a new series! Hope they do ^_^

  • Why is Leon Brittan portrayed as a cowboy at 1:36?

  • @goodgunnerwenger More importantly, what's Steel doing dressed as a cowboy with Brittan and Tebbit?

  • lol david owen in converse dancin' it off

  • Can someone kindly tell me who does

    Nigel Lawson (Reitel?)

    Geoffrey Howe (Barrie?)

    Edwina Currie (Robbins?)

    David Steel (Enfield?)

    Norman Tebbit

Tony Benn (at 1:14? - Glover?)

    Roy Brown (Barrie?)

  • @ErnieandBert1 Brown IS the one saying "Drop the mase!" right?

  • @ErnieandBert1 Or is that Nigel Lawson at 0:38?

  • @ErnieandBert1 I believe it is Leon Brittan, as the voice is different to Nigel Lawson's. Lawson was also portrayed as having a mole, which this puppet is lacking.

  • @goodgunnerwenger Actually, I think that *is* Nigel Lawson. Leon Brittan appears at 1:04

  • is that edwina curry in the black and purple dress?...

  • Do you have Diana singing Morrisey?

  • It's creepy to see the muppet heads on the human bodies. It would have been really difficult at this point in time to put the two together (one would think so anyway because there wasn't the ability to use computer graphics back then)

P.S. Why is Sir Alastir eating a rubber duck at the start of the clip?

  • "I'm a n-n-n-n-ninety-nine!!"

  • Also @ 1:23 Leo sounds like he's being voiced by Hugh Dennis but he didn't join the show till 1989.

    Very starnge that!

  • Interesting song, Harry Enfield,John Sessions and Jessica Martin are all heard in this song but none are credited.

John left the show in 1986 and Harry wasn't even involved in this series. But Jessica Marting was involved in this series.

  • We need a Canadian version of this show. All the great characters Stephen Harper, Michael Ignatieff, Stephane Dion, Jack Layton, Guilles Duceppe, Jim Flaherty, Lisa Raitt, Rona Ambrose, Ruby Dhalla, Rahim Jafer, and Helena Guergis

  • Thanks for uploading. Somewhere in the attic I have an LP which has this on which I've not heard for years. But even that doesn't have the last 30 seconds of this (I think). Keep up the good work!

  • Can you download that "We've Ruined The World" song? It wasn't on the 'complete' series DVD.

  • Have you got series 6?

  • Yes I do!

  • Ha Ha Dan Quayle at the end

    "Thank you, that's an honour"

  • LOL I Love This Song! :)

  • Can you upload the Cockney sketch?

  • Is that the one where Prince Charles talks to a "typical British bloke"? Or another one?

  • No the cockney party.

  • I don't remember that one offhand. Which season is it? I have seasons 1-6.

  • It's from the same episode of this episode.

  • Oh, okay! I'll find it and upload it soon.
