He talks to perpetual adolescents who want to show off how "daring" and "defiant" they

are..and only demonstrate how obtuse, and shallow they are. When Dawkins does

engage ..say Roger Scruton..a real thinker..then Dawkins comes off as what he is,

a play acting Academic whose whole life has been one of never venturing out of the kiddie pool

of ideas.

Shall do. Here's another idea: email music professors with a link to the video, asking for their opinion. I've done it once (Cornell U. music dept) but so far no luck. Let me know, too, if you find out. Also, perhaps we can randomly listen to Mozart and all his ilk (what a tough assignment!).

Unlike religion, he backs his point by supplying us with evidence/proof. Unlike most creationists, he has the decency to listen to their arguments and unlike those same creationists he answers their questions.

If there is a creator, how can you be so sure that your god is the right one, not Buddha or Thor or Jahweh or Allah or the Tooth-fairy? And why would you believe in him, if that book of his has been proven to be full of lies?

Hes not preaching anything, hes asking us to look at the hard evidence which explains where life comes from how it has changed etc. Also how the earth was formed and changed which lead to life starting. Science explains everything with hard eidence right back to the big bang where our understanding ends. What Dawkins is saying is that all the religions humanity has had to explain things are misleading.

Natural selection doesent work as a crane.

Because natural selection can only improve species in a limit. But it cant create new one:

'dubbeltid' - you think NS improves a species ! What do you define as 'improves' - NS doesn't work according to how you think a species 'improves'. Natural Selection is the species ability to sexually procreate and pass on its genetic inheritance to its offspring. It has absolutely nothing to do with what you think improves a species. Mutation is one of the mechanisms of Natural Selection.

My point is that have a hard time believing that NS in combination with Mutations can turn species into another. IF evolution is true there has to be some other mechanics of evolution that has not been discoverd if evolution is true =P

Oh you mean 'improves' an offsprings chances of sexual reproduction, then OK. If a large population of a species becomes separated into smaller groups by geography, with different environment pressures, then those different groups can evolve away from other groups. If NS provides a 50.001% chance of survival then that population will exponentially increase to a very large number given enough time

It takes hundreds of generations and reproductive isolation from one another (geographically, or new offspring too freakish to mate with so only freaks mate with freaks, etc) and for the new mutation, retardation, freakishness to be beneficial in the new environment they move to and for the new species to be fully 'new' from the original. The majority dont make it and become extinct.

For example, if green turtles eggs hatched yellow turtles one batch which wandered off to some yellow place and mated and flourished and didn't mix with the original greens anymore, eventually they'd become a distinct yellow turtle species. The fossil and genetic records support all of this sort of thing. Take a look at the horse chain, or human chain even. Very distinct gradually changing steps of species.

Deformationg and 'freaks' compared to the parents is indeed the driving force behind it. For example, at one point an ape creature was born retarded with much tinier jaw muscles than its parents. This gave it a weaker bite, and other small jaw muscle detrements. However, it allowed the skull to grow bigger and the brain to grow for longer and thus bigger. As it procreated and more offspring came about with this same retardation we had the beginning of the line to us.
