I have a question,

I want to make a T junction in my minecart system, but I want the tracks to ''split up'' before the actual intersection. So you can go 2 ways from each direction.

Is there any way to fix the obvious problem of tracks not being alligned properly after going through it? ( I tried to experiment for myself a bit, but I couldnt find a way to make it work >.<;; )

Actually there is a compass now but it doesn't point north, it points to your spawn.

if you have the cart starting on a powered track with the back facing a solid block (such as stone) and then a button you can press from in the cart to 'turn on' the track, you should be able to boost the cart to full speed from standing.

if you want to boost a cart in the middle of a continuous track, place it on a powered track (again with a button) at an angle

placing a cart here, getting in and pressing a button will launch the cart >>> this way.

PATCHED AS OF MINECRAFT BETA 1.6, ADJACENT MINECARTS NO LONGER BOOST MINECARTS. POWERED RAILS ARE EXPECTED TO REPLACE THIS METHOD OF BOOSTING. I know it sucks.

Then just use actual track boosters instead of this. It's pretty simple. Set it up like this then use the track boosters and you get the same effect.

I used the stone pressure plate technique so that when i wasn't in the cart when it left my station, the cart would go back too the perpetual motion machine ready for the next time i needed it.
