  • i think the law of gravity trumps the law of attraction b/c u still have the rest of the world to contend with. in ur own world u can make changes w/ the l.o.a but when it comes to realities that affect e/1 else they have to be convinced as well. so if u can convince most of the world that gravity can be overcome by thought then it would be possible.( i think). if i am off base shed some light one me. im new to this.

  • @sariglenn Wow, that way too deep for me. You can't convince most of the world to stop killing each other let alone agree that gravity is a state of mind. For now the only way to beat gravity is with some sort of devise that gives you lift. Even Icarus needed wings.

  • @vinnyverelli look up abraham hicks and u will see that this is what the law of attraction teaches

  • I thought in comedy I am suppose to laugh. No you haven't done your research. The Secret is just the beginning and you take that and research more. LOA is about changing your beliefs, addressing your shadows, adjusting your thinking and being aware and even meditating.

  • This guys is so wrong. "The Secret is not positive thinking" This guy needs to do a little more research. Awareness is the key

  • @azguy35 The Secret is the law of attraction, and you don't attract anything by being negative. You attract things by positive affirmations. And I'm not wrong, the universe is more likely to give you what you want if you take action. The Secret doesn't address this at all. Have you read the Secret of the Ages by Robert Collier? Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill? I've done my research. LIghten up. it's called comedy.

  • @vinnyverelli

I'm not saying don't work for it, but if you truly believe with 100% of your mind, there's no need to work. God gave us the power to bend space and time, our temple will maintain itself if we just ask it to. The problem with the piece of paper is that we don't TRULY BELIEVE that's what we weigh, for if we did, we would weigh it. Jesus TRULY BELIEVED that the water was wine and it was so. The same concept has been used through all of time.

  • There's no law of attraction. If you want things done right stop thinking about how beautiful it would be: get up, work for it and DO IT!

  • You're right. You have to take action. If the universe can grant things to you, I believe the universe is more likely to give you what you want if you get off your butt and (as Nike says) Just DO IT!

  • He so didn't understand The Secret.

  • @samsaz7 @samsaz7 I so did understand The Secret. It's a juvenile approach to the Law of Attraction which has been written about since 1903. You so don't understand parody and humor. If you want a GOOD book on the Law of Attraction with practical applications and actual actions plans to achieve your desires, read "The Success Principles," written by Jack Canfield. Which by the way came out a year before The Secret.

  • @vinnyverelli No, you don't understand parody & humor. I think you got parody right but it's very non-intelligent and not very humorous. The two ideas of parody & humor meet miles away from your material. I've also read Jack Canfield's material, yet made no comment about timelines of the law of attraction being published. I had only said you don't understand it. Which you don't. I don't think we're connecting here...

  • wow, such a great point.... the law of gravity trumps nearly everything in the universe.

But the law of attraction is still noticeable.

This guy is funny, and helpful with grounding you from an idealistic reality, nonetheless.

  • the secret claims the law of attraction is "same attracts same" "like attracts like" when everybody knows the old saying opposites attract.

  • Vinny, while this is a comedy sketch, it brings up some GREAT points about the shortcomings of The Secret.

I was pretty impressed by your knowledge of all the old LOA books too!

  • Shortcomings of The Secret? You mean its utter falsity and crime of deceiving people into a simple narrow-minded view of reality? Ideas like The Secret legitimize psychosis.

  • @timothy51886 What do you mean by this? Are you commenting on the LOA itself or just the Secret?

  • I'm talking about Scientology, Astrology, the secret, any pseudoscience that caters to our natural instincts which aim to see patterns and sprouts to personal feelings of grandeur. In any of these "founders" of a different version of positive thinking, like you mentioned, or just an alternative way of seeing reality, like Scientology and as far as mainstream religion, all have this messianic prejudice but usually don't admit it consciously.

  • In fact, the people who ascribe to these groups enjoy this special status of belonging to a group--it's a major player in self-identity and compliments the ego. What I meant was that the broad acceptance on the part of society of something like the secret makes its philosophy look legitimate, while its real nature is completely alien to reality.

  • the law of gravity... isn't that also the law of attraction?

  • Great observation. Newton's universal law of gravitation is all about objects "attracting" one another. If I were giving out prizes you would win one.

  • yeah, but one is supposedly psychic. but that is only supported by things like beta waves measured and emitted from the brain as well as the fact that we all are born into the lifeform of human. It is remiscent of metaphysical philosophical sayings or for the dumber person, religious sayings. Zeno's paradox is one

  • Regardless of the subject matter, he's not funny >_>

  • Then why are all the people laughing?

  • Anything's funny to somebody I guess. Hell, I can make a funny face to a 3 year old and they will laugh, it doesn't mean its generally good humor. I guess my point is, that he's not funny to the general public, rather he's just funny to the specific group to he's going for.

  • So what about people starving in a 3rd world country?

What about people in the world being killed by oppressive warlords?

I don't want to put the dampers on this Secret, but I doubt a bit of wishful thinking is going to help people get what they want if they don't have a means for this positive thinking to work for them.

It's all based on selfishness too. me me me me me. Just restricting yourself to positive thinking excludes others who may be in more need of help. Out of sight out of mind.

  • Thanks for the comment Buzztown. The Secret makes the Law of Attraction sound some simple. And you're right about the "ME" attitude in the movie. If the Secret works why not use it for a higher purpose? Everything is geared to, you can have money, you can have a relationship. you can eat anything you want an loose wait. If that's true, World Peace can't be too far behind. Hope to have some new videos up soon. Ciao For Now - Vinny

  • I've tried experimenting with The Secret by doing a triathlon. The first time, I trained hard (physically) on a regular basis. As a result, I had an excellent time! Then, I waited two years and practiced visualizing my time being better than the first time, and asked the Universe to help me finish the triathlon with ease. Also, I skipped the physical training part. Guess what happened? Much slower time, much harder to finish. No secret.

  • It would be interesting to see what would happen if you trained hard AND visualized a better finish. I've heard of athletes who use visualization. But on it's own it's merely a dream. Thanks for your comment. Ciao For Now Vinny

  • Okay, so last summer a guy dies in the middle of Atlantic. He was a worker on a cargoship and got crushed by a cow falling from the sky. This is a real case and it's remained unknown how the cow ended up in the middle of Atlantic, maybe a hurricane. Did the guy attract the cow, was he so hungry and thinking of juicy steak that he got from the universe what he wanted. Did the universe fumble a bit with the order and didn't have time to prepare the steak and instead just dropped the whole cow?

  • Or maybe the universe is a vegetarian?

  • Look at the good part, if it actualy exists and you still dont belive in it, it still works on you! So, everytime you have a problem, remember, it's just youre fault. IF you would try to realise the you have a problem and you are mad, you could change youre state.

  • I have no problem with the "Law of Attraction." I've seen it work. But, no one says anything about DOING. It's all about asking. The universe is more likely to give you what you want if you get off your ass and do something!

  • Twisting the truth is a good way to look at it. In order to achieve something or to get something, you have to want it. But wanting something is not enough. You have to DO something to get it. You are only dumber after watching that video if you actually buy into it's simplicity. And I see that you are not buying it. Thanks for the comment.

  • The Secret is such bullshit. I just had few friends show the video to me yesterday and I felt physical nausea watching that crap. Really brings the snake (satan) in the garden of eden in my mind. Twisting the truth which is you'll have to do something to get something. Nothing plus nothing equals nothing. I actually feel dumber after having to see The Secret, In no part of that insane rambling I found a thought that was even close to rational. I award it no points.

  • Poor you :). You are standing here complaining instead of doing anything useful. Well you can't blame anyone except youreself for being a looser if you are one, so there is no point to complain it doesnt works if you cant use it. I'm wining 125.000 $ a month since watching that movie, dont tell me it doesnt works.

  • i hate that "the secret" shit, my friend is obsessed with it and anyhting that happens to me or my friends he says we attracted to it, he wouldn't help push my car out of his snowy driveway cause " i attracted myself getting stuck" or some shit, hes so stupid, the way i see things, IF YOU WANT TO WIN THE LOTTERY, YOU HAVE TO BUY A LOTTERY TICKET

  • The Lottery ticket is a great analogy. Next time you see your friend, give him a swift kick in the ass and say, "Sorry dude, you attracted that." Thanks for your comment.

  • Statistically you are almost as likely to win the Calif state lottery whether you buy a ticket or not ;-)

  • very funny indeed, but humans don't use only 10% of their brains, it's an urban legend

  • That's true the 10% figure is an urban legend. Some people use a lot less. It's funny your comment coming in today. I head a speaker this morning saying that when we increase the level of natural DHEA in our system, our brain function can increase by 30%. In addition, we can train our brains. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

  • You rock Vinny.

The "secret" was like a hog wearing lipstick: and there's no secret that all that info has been around for ages. A ton of folks have all rode that cash cow into the barn.

Thank you for telling it like it is.

  • Nothing wrong with the Law of Attraction, wanting something and working hard to achieve it is healthy. Wanting something handed to you for nothing is not. It's no Secret that we want the EASY way out. - Thanks for your comments.

  • dude ur linked to wikipedia article

  • hey i didney know an american could speak sense

  • I didn't know you could reply to comments. Yeah, from time to time I'll say something profound. Americans always want the easy way out. That's why the Secret is so popular here.

  • I'm unable to see your entire comment, unless the comment was only 8 words. The DVD doesn't really tell you how. They give some quantum information and tell you that you have to want it bad enough. That's not taking action. Jack Canfield's book, The Success Principles is a much better look into the Law of Attraction - a, "How To" book. You have to take action every day. Wishing and wanting is not action.

  • but the book/dvd did mention about acting...

  • law of gravity > law of attraction!!!!

  • Actually, the *law* of gravity doesn't exist and Newtons *theory* of gravity has been theorised to be wrong by Einstein and later proven to be. Both persons, coincidentally, are mentioned in The Secret, which says there's a *law* of attraction that without undeniable proof can't be called a law either..

  • And I feel like a geek now.

  • Don't mistake your pains of thinking with delusions of intelligence.

  • If you have actually studied Physics you would know that, indeed, Newton's law of gravity is a Law as defined by the scientific method. Einstein's theories only state that the math behind Newtonian Physics does not apply at relativistic speeds. Read up before you speak up (and read it at the source...Einstein wrote a very accessible book on the subject of relativity)

  • Yo, yo, Vinny! Dat iz sum gud stuff!

  • I love Vinny!
