At the beginning of World war 2 ,the Canadians and Britains fought the Germans for 3 years on the ground against the Nazis before the U.S. ,,almost won the ground battle just before the US finished it off

USA and Canada are brother's. We fight, we blame each other, we both get jealous, and we want to be better then each other. Why are you guys talking about racism and communism in the comment section on a video of a song about a sailor expressing sadness at leaving the greatest city on earth?
This song always makes me kinda sad. I was born in Nova Scotia in the Annapolis Valley. I have been living and working in Alberta for almost 7 years now and I want to move back home so much. Too bad there is nothing much in the way of work where I am from :(
this is such fine music . i actually make brutal metal music with the meaning of peace =D . but now i am 31 and start to change , huh ? thx for this opportunity of healing
@DRZrider99 no, its worse. the messed with the tempo, melody rythum instrements and overall feel. the only thing tieing it to the song is the lyrics, and the messed with them too. one word: Awefull

America has no better ally than Canada; the true mettle was shown after 9/11 when thousands of Americans were 'stranded' in Canada and the gracious Canadians opened their homes to them. And the RCAF pilots who in a show of true brotherhood among airmen refueled our jets and even flew air cover for Detriot, Seattle , and Chicago so that out pilots could get some much needed rest. Thank you Canada, valiant allies...stalwart friends!
@NYcgrguy I respect Canada despite the jokes I make about some of their wrestlers like Chris Jericho and Trish Stratus but seriously the Bin Laden family had no trouble flying after 911-hey, helps to be friends of George Bush who was the 2nd most powerful person in the US govt. at the time.
@NYcgrguy When we suffered through the tragedy of "The Halifax Explosion", it was our friends in New England who provided much needed support and resources. We continue to give thanks and pay respect by sending a Christmas tree to Boston every year as a symbolic gesture that we will never forget. I have lived in the US as well. We are much more similar than different. My door is always open and I will always lend a hand to my American brothers and sisters.

@Meredith1301 Thanks for taking in that couple and thank you for being our truest friend. USA and Canada share on inextricable tie..we both love freedom and will stand up to defend it! God bless Canada and the USA!
I used to live in Nova Scotia, but then I moved. :( I am crying because I had so many good friends who never let me down there. I'm so sad. :( :( :( If only I could move back. *sigh* :(
There is NO place like Nova. There's no place like Nova Scotia, when my Irish Great Great Grandfather hit those shores from Ireland he left all he knew to start a new life with his wife and my Great Grandfather was born there. Their only child that lived. God bless Nova Scotia, for without it, I wouldn't be here today :) Happy St. Patrick's day ....Erin go Bragh!
I traveled to Nova Scotia some 15 years ago. I found the cheery looking homes along the water to be full of character and the charm of the locals made me happy to visit. I look forward to visiting again some day, especially for that seafood chowder I had at one of the restaurants. The Best I've had. Good on ye, our Eastern Coast brothers! :)
@MrMetalheart10 oh , i AM SURE THAT THEY THINK OF IT AS AN ANCESROAL HOMELAND , LOVE IT , AS NOVA SCOTIA , MEANING OF NEW SCOTLAND WAS SETTLED BY SCOTS & IRISH .. IT IS WELL BELOVED !!!
@MrMetalheart10 oh , i AM SURE THAT THEY THINK OF IT AS AN ANCESROAL HOMELAND , LOVE IT , AS NOVA SCOTIA , MEANING OF NEW SCOTLAND WAS SETTLED BY SCOTS & IRISH .. IT IS WELL BELOVED !!! BUT THEY ARE CANADIAN & PROUD TO BE & OF THEIR ANCESTORY !!!
@MrMetalheart10 my grandfather was from novia scotia and most of the older family is still over there, but most of the population are derived from irish immigrant fishermen. it very closely resembles a seaport town like boston that was flooded with the irish who dug deep roots in to their new homes and flourished as a community.
@MrMetalheart10 I'm Nova Scotian, I've never been to Scotland but I would love to some day, most people who I talk to are either proud of their Scottish heritage or wish they had Scottish Heritage.
Dear Born Again Pagan Celts let’s Celebrate a Reveres Paradox,
on March 17th let’s PROMOTE CELTIC PAGAN LIBERATION DAY! If your are proud to be a Born Again Pagan Celt then wear all green and silkscreen on your underwear CELTIC PAGAN PRIDE for the Hill of Tara
I visited Nova Scotia a few summers ago on vacation. It is one of the most beautiful places in the world. We sat on the rocks at Peggy's Cove on a cloudy afternoon and listened to waves crash on the shore. It was one of most serene and memorable days of my life. Anyone disrespecting Nova Scotia is obviously ignorant of the place.
to the ones that have not seen the east coast as as abeauty, shame . as far as i've known we like beer any flavour and nice......people and music. as an air force brat i might remember this.....
@CryptonicNova first of all, gay name. Cryptonic. lol. second, i gave out my address to people like you who think they can talk tough on the internet. in reality you are a scrawny little canadian, who cant stand up for himself. making excuses for not visiting my home. seeing as you are probably 13 and cant pay youre own hospital bill, you should get a job. maybe you can be a bouncer at a chuck e cheeses. hopefully canada isnt gay enough not to have one. go on. send me a letter. dare ya bitch
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@0eyeless i really dont care about nova scotia. never even heard of the place, i heard this guy talking $hit to some kid, saying how tough people from novia scotia are. so i gave out my address. they didnt do anything about it, so im guessing people there are a bunch of big talking pussys
Man, I live in Dartmouth (the city beside Halifax) it's pretty beautiful if you look at it in a certain way. Well it may just be the way im looking at it. lolz! well, it's a beautiful place hands down.
Most of the comments are bullshit and have nothing to do with the song i live in Nova Scotia and if you people want to bad mouth a place you should go to it before you do
its like saying all americans are gun loving rednecks don`t go to a place before you people bad mouth it
To all of you out there who are dissing each other "Americans are stupid" or "Canada is lam" and all that, shut up! This song is bigger than any of that! It transcends time and space. It has something for us all!
Listen my fellow Countrymen, who cares what that little American punk thinks? We all know he's just a typical mouthy ignorant little B**ch hiding behind his computer screen...and if he ever actually went to Nova Scotia and said something like that, he'd be sent home in a wheelchair crying for his momma...Canada Rules, Nova Scotia rules and we all know it so who cares what anyone else thinks?
@EpicPaintballStudios Thank You EPS, but unfortunately I have to admit I have never had the pleasure of being able to call my self a resident of your beautiful province although I have visited it twice, and I hope to visit it many more times before I die. I have also had several good friends over the years who are either from there or their families are. I just get really sick and tired of mouthy little Pr**ks like that though. They just P**s me off!
We fought together in WWI & WWII, Korea and now in Afghanistan. I woudn't trade my northern neighbor for anyone. Sometimes you gotta remind people to show a little respect for an alliance thats been around a lot longer than themand sacrificed together. I've been to Nova Scotia and New foundland and love this part of Canada, beautiful.
@thatsdyn glad to hear. too many americans forget our history. reversely, to many canadians forget it also. we are great allies, and we should remember our countries are forever linked.
@thatsdyn , im the forces up here in good ol Canada and fightin with the south in efghan brought a new light of respect, go shoulders with you boys anytime.
@mahteinia because you said that if you knew where that kid lived, you would kick his ass. you know where i live, and i hate people who cant keep up their threats. if you cant kick a persons ass, dont fuckin say you can.
@mattmatherson 3)More than 2,300 farms raise cattle in Nova Scotia , There were 3,923 farms in Nova Scotia in 2001, The poultry population in 2003 was 942,017. 4)Cape Breton Highlands National Park - 948 square Kilometers, Kejimkujik National Park - 403.7 square Kilometers 5) The Cape Breton Highlands Links Golf Course In 2002, Scoregolf rated Highlands Links the best golf course in all of Canada. .....
@mattmatherson i have to ask you this matt why are you supporting that jackass he randomly clicked on a cultural video of the greatest province in canada and dissed it just for being an ass now i have nothing against you my problem is with him so please screw off and stop sending me hate messages its getting quite annoying
@CryptonicNova That's kind of a load of a crap, don't you think? Who "thinks before they act?" I can bet that most Canadians just do what they're manipulated to do by politicians...kind of like the US.
i completeley aggree with monkey mina. nova scotia has don nothing to help the world. i havent heard of that fuggin country until today. mathenia, you should go shag a sheep. honestly, im an american living at 5455 wash street, omaha nebraska. ill kick your ass.
Were you on chrystal meth when you posted that comment? Nova Scotia isn't a country dipshit. It is the best province in the best country in the world. No one gives a fuck who you are, where you come from or in what dive you live.
i completeley aggree with monkey mina. nova scotia has don nothing to help the world. i havent heard of that fuckin country until today. mathenia, you should go shag a sheep. honestly, im an american living at 5455 wash street, omaha nebraska. ill kick your ass.

@mattmatherson - 1) The Fortress of Louisbourg (Cape Breton Island) is the largest reconstructed 18th-century French fortified town in North America. 2)Nova Scotia has more than 400 companies with 2,500 employees in the environmental sector. These firms work in such specialties as remote sensing, geographic information systems, waste utilization, and water and wastewater treatment products and services .......
The progression of our dieing culture, brought to the plank by the whole of the Third World. Our country is one of the best, I would fight for it, but only for the next 20 years, then someone else can die for a country of a lost future.
My people came to New France in 1640 and some settled in Maine in the the 1800s, so I have roots in both countries. At the on start of World War One the United States was not yet in the war , my Great Uncle went to Canada and joined the Black Watch and fought for Canada. I am not a great learned man , but in my humble opinion England kept things stirred up between two great countries. There is enough hate and war in the world , it would be nice if neighbors could be neighborly .
I believe in the British Empire, and in the second place I believe in the British race. I believe that the British race is the greatest of the governing races that the world has ever seen. - Joseph Chamberlain, 1895
geez i remember when i commented on this song and how i discovered it and started to to love it and learn on guitar and then , wellllllllll..... i was a sailor and fuck your little piss on country if thats the way you fell aboooooooooooot things. what has your country done for anything, please just anything, or is it all about the sheep cunt? tell me. mnnnnnnnnnn well your peeps can come over here and make toooooooooooooonnnnnssssssss of US dollars doing that shit, hell bring your daughters

Well~ I like Scotland :) and I'm from Nova Scotia, why would we hate Scotland?
converseslippers 11 months ago
@MrMetalheart10 Nova Scotia means 'New Scotland' I believe.
Maybe that's why? ^_^
Ethercatify 11 months ago
@MrMetalheart10 my grandfather was from novia scotia and most of the older family is still over there, but most of the population are derived from irish immigrant fishermen. it very closely resembles a seaport town like boston that was flooded with the irish who dug deep roots in to their new homes and flourished as a community.
jonfante3 10 months ago
@MrMetalheart10 I'm Nova Scotian, I've never been to Scotland but I would love to some day, most people who I talk to are either proud of their Scottish heritage or wish they had Scottish Heritage.

I have also had several good friends over the years who are either from there or their families are. I just get really sick and tired of mouthy little Pr**ks like that though. They just P**s me off!
