  • @ajapam34

Very true. I mean, I had more fun in super mario galaxy than i had in donkey kong country. and the final boss music of galaxy 2? A masterpiece.

  • Very hard!

  • This is my favorite theme in the game. I know everyone loves Stickerbush Symphony and believe me I do too. But there is one thing that Stickerbush lacks. Tension. Not only is this theme beautiful in its own way, but its full of tension, and it almost sounds victorian in a sense, like it could be in a play

  • @PhalanxIV ALOT!!! this game is a true masterpiece. Perfect music, perfect gameplay, perfect graphics, and tons of fun. I used to think that the original was my favorite of all time, but then I put my honest opinion on which truely deserves to be my favorite and it is this game. This game impressed me just as much as the first one did and even MORE

  • This is my all time favorite game, ive had it since i was 6 -3

  • @PhalanxIV Alright, Cranky Kong.

  • You walking so happy

    *Super Bee*

    - MOTHER F*CKING SHIT!!!

  • This might be one of the best songs I've ever heard in a video game.

  • @noaireirei it is--- for all of us

  • my new workout music

  • Games were so awesome when i was a kid back in the 90's and Donkey Kong Country games were one of the best games i have played on Super Nintendo and Super Mario World :)

  • @lalaxbo the legend of the seven stars

  • @PhalanxIV

    ..I had DKC1 and 3 but didn't have two has a child. :( I did eventually play and beat 2 but I missed out. ;_;

  • @feh2 easily the biggest adventure of the 3 games.

  • @christbone pirate ship>a volcano>swamp>rollercoster!>this song...>a haunted valley> a haunted rollercoster!> a castle on the top>a race on the brambles>a fight on a reptile hellicopter> the lost world...

  • @PhalanxIV

    Amen.

  • For dkc.2 then this is my fave out them all. 70's style pianoidge... Had this game and completed every bonus room to 102%

  • When I was around 7 or 9 I played Donkey kong country 1, 2 and 3

  • @PhalanxIV emulators are very popular these days. maybe they are only missing out on the waiting between the installments.

  • @PhalanxIV Pshaw, I'm a kid and I play it all the time! (On GBA, unfortunately. Sue me. :P)

  • I love how dire this music is, and in all reality, were the Kongs in an environment more tracherous than the Zinger nests? Think about it; huge cliffs, plenty of sticky surfaces to get entangled on, and swarms of giant, angry insects all around you. Sounds like a nightmare to me.

  • @PhalanxIV

Definitely agree. Today's video games don't possess the same creativity and originality of the VG's from NES, SNES, or Genesis. They are just ripped from soundtracks of actual artists, or are melodic, ambient drones. Kids just don't know !! = D

  • @PhalanxIV Well I was born in 1995 and the SNES was the very first video game console I've ever had along with this game, Super Mario World, Donkey Kong Country(first one) and many other great games and I still enjoy them. How I got so lucky to witness the classics is my older family members who owned it.

  • IMO the GBA version of this music is a little better.

  • i miss that game and super Mario world best game i ever played when i was like 5 or 6 years old

  • I have this game on the GBA i wish i had the Snes version i played that in 97.

  • musiquinha do Chaves rsrsrsrs, reparem bem!

  • too many "-blank- today sucks" comments here. There's still good games, music, etc. You just have to find it. Sadly a lot of people are blinded by nostalgia. Anyone that takes just a few minutes to look for something good will find it, yet apparently people seem to think every single game released now is Call of Duty and every song written is shallow, boring pop music.

Anyway DKC2 is a classic. This game aged like a fine wine

  • @Ajapam34 Word. These games may be classics but there are still plenty of good games out today.

  • Comment removed

  • @Ajapam34 People are always fighting for relevance and always want to think the things that were produced in their youth are what should be most relevant. That’s why you’ll always here “Back in my day they did this and this better than what’s being done now.” Though in some cases they might be right?

  • I remember the day my Aunt Wanda got me DKC, omg was it heaven <3 I loved her to bits, because it was thanks to her I was introduced to the Donkey Kong days. Though sadly, I missed out on DKC2... but that'll change very soon~

Why? Ehehehe, I am gonna buy that game come soon <3 I'll get to enjoy that little childhood treat I never got to try.

  • Thumbs up if you learned an instrument, and played these games when you were a kid!

  • @PhalanxIV thank god for the virtual console

  • @PhalanxIV i am realy thinking the same, but in to its no problem my little brothers are also growing up with all these games, i gave them my snes n64 and gamecube to play these cool games......today the games arent really for kids, either they are brutal or to difficult to understand and play

  • @PhalanxIV I was born in 1997 and didn't start playing video games to 2001, but I made sure I played the classics and despite primitive technology, I still fully appreciate it.

  • Old video game music should be a genre of its own. Seriously. I absolutely love music, but nothing comes close to the feel of music from the N64 era and before, except for the odd game here and there. After that, the composers seemed to be trying to copy other, "significant" composers and adding songs with lyrics to games. This old sound is where it's at. Mood music.

  • @BizzarreProductions old school video game music is pretty much the only music i listen too.

with the exception of michael jackson songs and few others.

but old video game music is my main intrest.. too bad people dont notice how great it is, just because its from a game.

  • @bazla123 Damn right! Half the music I listen to is from DKC, Zelda, BK and SM64. They just create an awesome ambience! I often think of video game music as a modern form of classical music.

  • @breegull64 agreed. i have the soundtracks of all those games you mentioned.

music today is just full unmeaning full lyrics, its rare to find good music these days.

video game music is actually art. since it suits the atmosphere of the level (espically old school games)

and like u said creates an ambience. its too bad that such good "classical music" is so underated =(

  • @bazla123 Oh, the lyrics... Many songs are just about sex and alcohol. I hate those kind of songs. I prefer 80s and 90s music as well as vg music. People think it's weird to listen to game music...but then again, they listen to movie soundtracks -_-

About the ambience: It's quite awesome if you go for a walk and listen to fitting game music. For instance, listen to bramble blast when the clouds are moving in the wind or to Mining Melancholy when you're walking at night. I do that every day :D

  • I made love to this song. It was good. I highly recommend it.

  • DKC 2 best DKC of all time, of all time

  • I was so amazed as kid seeing a stage like this. All I could think was "so this is where they come from!" Awesomely creepy as well!

  • This needs to be made into a trance song, now.

  • @PhalanxIV i wa born in 200 "aka the ps2 age" but i grew up on super nintendo i had dkc and dkc2 for my super nintendo but i have dkc3 for my gameboy advance

  • this makes good firewalking music

  • @mrprettyricky3000 Well it doesn't even get good until about a minute in. :P

Do you firewalk for over a minute at a time?

  • @PhalanxIV I love that Alot. /hyperboleandahalf

But no, seriously, you're definitely right. I wasn't really born in the DK age (maybe a little bit after), but my parents had a SNES and the three Donkey Kong games, so I played them. A lot. And I loved them. A lot. And I hated Diddy Kong until I played DK64. A lot. And then I found out that I was playing such an awesome game as a kid. Much.

  • @PhalanxIV i borned when DKC3 was released :D, n i dont regret it, cuz dk will always be a great game to me, i always prefer nintendo games than others

  • I hate that GARGANTUAN BEE!! >:(

  • ME GUSTA ESTA MUSICA ME RECUERDA ESOS VIEJOS TIEMPOS

CUANDO ME ENVICIABA EN LA SNES JAJA QUE TIEMPOS

JAMAS LOS OLVIDARE ESTA MUSICA ME LO ASE RECORDAR

  • @PhalanxIV They don't have to miss out. They can download it on their wii's.

  • This music IS very insect like, specifically of the colonizing kind.

  • it seems gerudo valley from zelda

  • I always felt a sense of urgency on this stage.

  • I have a phobia of bees and wasps...so this level would be creepy for me.

  • @PhalanxIV They can download it on Virtual Console. I was at mid-elementary school when this was out.

  • i miss "rare" with nintendo! too bad nintendo has always been a bunch of greedy sum' bitches! why didn't they pay the company that single handed-ly carried nintendo on their back in the snes and n64 era! donkey kong country just deoesn't feel the same without the beautiful "RARE" logo on the cases!

  • @cieloknight

Totally agree! Rare™ were geniuses. To go on and create multiple masterpieces after this series takes some doing.

  • Nice

  • The sad music goes good with the depressed baby zingers nestled in the honeycombs in the background

  • This is the level that was hardest for me, and the under the water one... it was creepy when that bee/wasp turned red and got angry! Ahhh!

  • Jesus Christ, why do the DKC games have to have such ludicrously amazing sounding tracks!? They make every other 16-bit games sound like shit! Okay, not EVERY other one... but I believe I've made my point.

  • Stupid shitheads thinking modern games are all graphics.

Hell I grew up on Super Nintendo, and sure it had great games, but what, ya'll gonna claim games like Half Life 2, Warcraft, like they don't exist?

Idiots, it's embarrasing and certainly not helping the industry forward.

  • @moccamonster I'm sure it's more the nostalgia surrounding the game that contribute to over worshipping this game (it was REALLLLYYY good though) . It means more to some people then just the game itself, it was part of many peoples childhood, and the memories of the friends and family they played it with etc.

  • How could they make a soundtrack so special ?? :):D also stickerbrush symphony etc..

  • @MultiAlfredo83 It's because it's David Wise, and he fucking rocks at composing VGMs

  • 4 people didn't have Dixie while honey hopping over the bee's;).

  • This level made me want honey, or something sweet every time I played it.

  • This level had the best scenery for sure. Soundtrack is great too, but not better than Bramble Blast IMO :)

  • I like the background of this level. And the cute lil baby zingers.

  • Secretly, beehives really do look like this inside. And there are speakers playing this song throughout the whole hive.

  • i like this song played when you enter a new school for the first time @__@

  • SUPER NINTENDO = MASTER CONSOLE OF ALL TIME! _O_

  • i like this song. the techno-style beat give a sense of urgency but the melody is soft and serene giving a sense of calmness.

  • the 4 people who disliked this are sick in their minds!

  • Sadly players these days know nothing about the 90's games. It's like when people think that black eye peas made * time of my life* in music..They would understand who we feel about cod, gow and these kind of game. Even for nintendo games like dkc:return.. young peoples never live the golden age of square when they were the best in 3D games. I understand old people about movies.

  • This song plays when Chuck Norris swats a bug.

  • @AuraScar enough of this old bad Norris jokes on youtube and also with negative vote jokes

  • @gizaha Yeah, sorry man, my cousin likes to get on when i leave the computer alone and do dumb stuff. Sorry bout that.

  • It's actually very simple. Just took out the graphics of GoW and CoD, then you will all whine about how shitty the game is. You're welcome.

  • we dont need to bring up really good games from recent years and say they suck just to make donkey kong look good, donkey kong is a cool looking game with a great soundtrack. if anything, this game has bad gameplay. goddamn you guys dont know what the fuck your talking about, not even close

  • I owned the first DKC. It's a shame that I never owned the second one. Good thing I borrowed it from my neighbor. Then 10 years later, emulators came out. Ahh. Nostalgia.

  • You're all a bunch of faggots. I liked the gameplay in Gears and MW2, get over it pussies.

  • Dave Wise is a composing genius.

  • Thanks to this, the wasp flying by my window seems a million times more menacing and deadly. Where are those huge wooden barrels when you need 'em?!

  • Comment removed

  • For an old classic game, some of these levels were kinda hard.

  • this music just typically makes me think of insects, flies, bees, zingers...I remember my heart pounding as fast as the beat in the music of how nervous i was when i made it to the zinger boss. I wish i could go back in time and re-live the past of the 90s =/

  • As a kid, and even today, hearing this theme makes me feel like I'm in deep s**t.

    It's fantastic.

  • man, i remember when i was little and was playing this and i had a fear of bees at the time (Still do...) and when i got up to this i was ALWAYS far away from the screen as possible! i dont do that now, but it was a little kid moment for me XD but any way, Awesome game and music!

  • EPIC!!!

  • this game is together with super mario 64 my favorite game of al time.

  • This is one of the most intense, heart pouding, epic pieces in video game history. This is one of my favorite pieces in musical history. It's simply invigorating. (I hate the hive levels though)

  • 1:13 - 1:27 reminds me of that "Moskau" song (look it up!)

  • Thums up if you are interested in the new DK on the new Nintendo Feel

  • Nostalgia , good old times

  • this my friends is the sound of larvae squirming in the background

    ugh

  • This music is so goddamn intense, made the level like 10 times harder!! :P

  • Thosw who hates this has been stung to death by the Hornets :D

  • This theme is awesome. It makes you feel like you are really in enemy territory, and a HIVE full of those fucking Zingers, you sure as hell are.

  • I always questioned how a song of such a serious tone like this would fit into something light-hearted like DKC.....but I could care less; this song makes you feel like you're in a nest full of hornets, wasps, bees, whatever, and you've got to watch your back. D:

  • I don't know where all these comments about being creepy come from. Zingers are just wasps. To me the music carries an air of industriousness and constant communication that ones thinks typical of insects like bees, ants, and zingers. The drumbeat crescendos have the feel of some gargantuan undertaking, like building the great wall of China or maybe some massive nest.

  • @ActraiserIII the creepiness is from playing this when you're 5 years old and still a pussy lol

  • @ActraiserIII Giant wasps would dominate our world, we'd barely stand a chance.

  • @ActraiserIII creepy? YES, why? WASPS, THEY'RE OVERSIZED WASPS THAT ARE THERE TO KILL YOU. TO FUCKING KILL YOU! WASPS ARE ALREADY A PAIN NORMALLY, NOW OVERSIZED???

  • @JLMBfreafin psh, if you think the wasps are oversize look at the rest of the game xD

  • @AuraScar I hate wasps!

  • @ActraiserIII I thought Zingers were supposed to be bees...

  • @ActraiserIII Genius comment, that song makes me feel just like that, the crescendos really sound like bug communication.

  • Got DK 1 at Easter Sunday..today.... 16 years ago

  • Hahah it sounds like killer instinct lol

  • Oh my gosh this music is so powerful.

  • @METAPHOR1232 Thunbs up if you always called zingers wasps..

  • @Dembofant I used to. But now that I know they are hornets, I call them so... when I'm not calling then Zingers

  • I always jump out of my chair when one of my kong die(AW!) XD

    Still like this today.

  • 4 people ran into Zingers and fell down onto another Zinger while riding Squawk. ((been so long since I played this so, sorry if this makes no sense.))

  • sometimes i was too scared to face the really big zinger at the end of the level

  • how can i record the soundtrack from that disk... whatever... so that i have it on my PC?

  • Best song in the entire game

  • This shit makes my ears cum. Glad as fuck I still have this game.

  • 4 persons were not finding Squawks

  • wieso schreibt ihr alle in so ner komischen wortstellung? o.O

  • @fortbaxter19 Für Spaß

  • @Waluigi666 sorry das war der google toolbar translater und es schreibt er immer in soner scheiß satz aufstellung ^^

  • Ahhh...Sweet memories!

  • This is one of the greatest games ever. Not just on SNES, I mean of all time.

  • I always found the Zingers out to be rather disturbing! And a big part of it was thanks to this music O.o

    CHILLS DOWN MY SPINE

  • something about this song creeps me out, but its still awesome .

  • ugh so disturbing.....I LOVE IT X)

  • Thumbs up if you felt sad for the lonely, wingless zingers in the background combs

  • @MJimiD I'm thinking that, like real hornets, they're not fully mature yet. Eventually their wings will grow in, and they'll be able to try to kill you like all the other Zingers lol.

  • @MJimiD lol i was like awwwwww poor litttle zingers! :)

  • Parrot Chute Panic is the most epic level ever!!!

  • This theme used to give me the creeps as a kid.

  • I hate those stupid zingers!!!!! GRRRR

  • Thank you for made me exist!

  • Zingers.

    The 20th century creepers.

  • cough cough zing zing

  • You play Modern Warfare 2. You play Bulletstorm. You play Gears of War. You play Fable III... And then you play Donkey Kong Country 2... And I wonder... What happened? In which moment we lost the route? Why the most invested money it's on graphics but gameplay? What happened? I miss those days...

  • @axlbrujo With such high budgets (certainly higher than DKC2 had), developers are forced to curb creativity in favor of familiarity. Taking risks is uncommon because it rarely pays off. That said, if you are an indie game creator you can take huge risks because there is so little to lose. Gameplay is still there, you just have to look past the marketing and find titles through word-of-mouth.

  • @axlbrujo You know, funniest thing is I keep hearing this said in song form along with the level's bgm from 1:01 to 1:25

  • @axlbrujo oops meant to say keeping hearing this said in my head, lol

  • @axlbrujo Agreed. The little pissant kids between the ages of like- 10 and 15 care about graphics only. They're the disease of the gaming community, but they're the cocksuckers that spend the most (their parent's) money. Dont' worry. Dust off your SNES and plug in DKC2. You'll forget all about these little fucks.

  • @axlbrujo

Don't wax nostalgia too hard. There's no golden age that's disappeared. When DKC2 came out, there was simultaneously a bunch of shitty, thoughtless commercial games that came out simultaneously with it. I have an SNES emulator and a folder with 763 SNES roms. Of those 763, Fewer than 100 stand out to me as worth playing on a regular basis. In looking back, we choose to remember the good things. There's diamonds in the rough of today's game market. Don't worry. Good won't disappear.

  • @Npowell01 Yeah, but think about this. In those (golden) days, there was shit, I know, but c'mon, when you got a shitty game in the SNES, the first complain was about gameplay. In those days, if the gameplay sucks, then the WHOLE game sucks. You were concerned more about gameplays. But now, when someone says "The next fall Gears of War 3 will come out", then the people will go "OMG! THE GRAPHICS!", "THOSE GRAPHICS!"... now it's all about grapichs, but gameplay...

  • @axlbrujo what the fuck, no motherfucker, it has nothing to do with graphics, nobody cares about graphics, ffxiv has the best graphics there ever was and nobody gives a fuck about that game, gears of war is like the best game there is for multiplayer, its gameplay is so fuckin deep and fun, what the fuck is wrong with everyone in these videos, theres nothing wrong with these new games just shut the fuck up none of you know what your talking about

  • @axlbrujo Back then Donkey Kong was the best graphics retard.

  • @axlbrujo are you fucking saying that donkey kong has better "gameplay" thatn cod? wtf, just because alot of people play call of duty doesnt mean its bad, its actually better than most games

  • @noszondi But not this one buddy

  • @axlbrujo

Ever heard of Donkey Kong Country Returns?

  • @Cheetah1251 Yeah but that's just one of very few games. His point is that most of the games we see today just don't have that quality that we loved about older games.

  • @axlbrujo You do realize that back when DKC2 came out people said that it was more focused on graphics than gameplay, right?

  • @axlbrujo Amazing words.

  • Someone go look up Spiral by Pendulum and tell me the intro doesn't sound a lot like this song's intro. It's weird o~o

  • 4 bk from the cod generation saw this video

  • BBBBBZZZZ zinger died. Let's go on. Yay.Rock 'em parrot.

  • This song is so intense!

  • that bird sucked ass

  • he dies in a high pitch bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz! hahahaha best games ever.

  • amazing song. Nicholas Cage is not amused xD

  • nossa por causa dessa musica eu nao gostava dessa fase =)

  • man.. i just want to stick my head into a bee hive and listen to this soundtrack all day/night long

  • oh god BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES

  • es demasiado
