I happen to have a few mates who have special needs (one of whom has just lately ended up being my girlfriend) and hence I have enjoyed what I have seen of the this show so far.
Although I don't normally watch realty TV I can vouch from presonal exprence (from knowing my mates) that this show is on the level.
To those who feel that the people here are being "exploited": Do you really want a world where there are no people with disabilities on TV, as if they don't exist? This show represents progress. TV should reflect the diversity of the population. Not having disabled people on TV is like not having black people on tv.
i see nothing wrong here. i dont know how edited this was but i saw strong, happy people and they're day to day lives. we can't sit here and go on about how they're exploiting them, or we can take a moment to enjoy just how different and special life can be.
I understand these people have their mothers and fathers on the show with them, but sometimes I feel the underdogs of society are being exploited by the tv corporations and execs as tools for ratings. It's terrible.
I don't believe it's for our amusement rather then a learning experience. Reality TV... is a joke with the Participants acting out to be noticed... These fine folks are helping us understand what they want out of life, and it's basic human need to live life to the fullest.
@Rasiel1337 I completely agree with you! I'm 17 and my sister has down syndrome. We're triplets so I have a brother as well. I find it disgusting how people do this and how some people act in society towards the disabled especially people my age, I don't think this is for educational purposes a tall. I'm also glad no one has written any horrid comments or i'd go ape!
I'm surprised you feel this way. This is a webseries that shows young people with disabilities living independently. The more people actually know about the lives of people with special needs, the less stigma there will be. I agree with undeadmatador-they are portrayed as strong, happy people, which is what I assume you'd want for your sister.
