  • How cute! Wish my parrotlet would do that!

  • When did sweat pea start this? Our p'let is 8 weeks. We put a shallow bowl in but not sure if it's too early for them. Thank you for sharing your video.

  • Hey one question is ur parrotlet hand tamed? i ust bought mine yesterday and he isnt hand tammed at all:( im trying to get him used to me but its only been a day! do you think i should try to make it take a bath?

  • if your bird is not hand tamed, theres certain things you should and should not do. :]

if hes trying to get away from you when you try to pet or hold him, don't chase. its like training him to be afraid of your hand.

instead, let him see you have a treat if he comes on your hand :DD

for bathing, fill a pan or bowl with shallow water and encourage him in. you can also mist him, or if he gets attatched to you, fill your hands with water and let him bath in that, its really good for bonding :D

  • my bird is about 2 years old is there about like an age where parrolets will get used to it also my bird only likes seeds just seeds no veggies or fruits

  • each day give him veggies with a small amount of seeds sprinkled on top and some mixed in well with the veggies. At first he'll pick out the seeds, but will get a little taste of veggies. Little by little he'l pick at the veggies and get used to eating them. Also, A piece of corn on the cob or broccoli flowerette hanging in the cage becomes a toy to pick at and little by little becomes a snack he'll look forward to.

  • thanks i will try that your good with birds

  • omg. SO cute.

  • How old is sweetpea? I have a young parrotlet and looking to begin getting him used to having a bath around, basically just introducing it to'em and such. Wanted to get an idea on ages. :)

  • I don't think age is a factor. Some birds love water and some don't. It's up to them. You can't force it.

  • True, you can't force them to anything, but I wasn't planning on forcing it anyways. Just want to introduce'em to the idea. Set the bath in the cage and let'em see it, get used to it and the like.

  • That's all you can do, provide them the water and they'll either bathe or they won't. It may take some longer than others but they should always have water anyway so you'll know in due time.

  • Well it was different in my case. Before my little budgie was mature, she never took baths. I had to force it on. However, after she matured, things changed. She tried to take baths in my glass of water sometimes.

  • Lol my Polly looks like that but he hates baths i know i don't wanna force him but don't they have to have baths?

  • how on earth did u convince her to try that???? sammy won't even bath in the shallow plate i put in her cage every morning

  • She was very nervous and wouldn't get into the sink so I put the ladder in there and the rest is history. Some birds like to bathe and some don't. I have a 5 year old parrotlet, Kronk that stands beside a bowl of water and just flaps his wings. I guess he doesn't know how to get in even after 5 years, so I take him in the shower on my hand and he will let the water run on him if he's in the mood.

  • Wow.....i figured that's goin to take some serious trust, which I probably havent earned yet. she's still pretty new to the family. I read that for now, a spray bottle will work as a sufficient bath. she doesn't even have to leave the cage or do anything but stand there

  • Be careful because some bird will freak out if you spray them with a bottle so do it only if they like it.

  • Yea....I just found that out today...wasn't a happy at all....well when she's ready, she'll be ready. I don't believe it's as urgent as her eating the fruits and veggies she chews and spits out, so I can be patient :-)

  • Excuse me, where can I get a ladder like that? And what color is Sweetpea?

  • Sweetpea is green. Any petshop that sells birds will have ladders

  • what water do u use hot or cold????

    nice vids!!!

  • warm.

  • she is too cute!

how often should we be giving our birds a bath or shower?

  • Daily bathing helps keep their feather in good shape

  • ur birds are cute...i got a superb parrot and tryin to teach him not to bite...n e tips on how u made kronk stop biting? make more vids the r helpful 10/10 =D

  • that is so cute! :) It's cool that yours can do that by himself on a ladder perch. My sun conure needed to either be on my shoulder of be on my finger to take a bath or shower XD

  • Adorable! As all parrotlets are!

  • That is too cute!
