I actually used to make fun of him for it but then one day I picked up his gameboy and just started playing it for the hell of it and I was hooked. Best game for a flight or a road trip.

I was so obsessed with Pokemon and Dragonball Z (but not Digimon for some reason) and I would get really upset if I missed an episode. The company makes figurines, a card game, side games, virtual pets, characterized snacks, etc. They all exist and still bring in revenue. They are all still actively produced - a good example: the phone/key charm vending machines at most department stores.

They've going on a "media take-over" as they have called it where they're going to purgue with advertisements on the internet and on television to appeal to a global market and more fans. they're aiming at getting a younger generation, while satisfying the current aging fanbase.
