LOL! If I were as good as Yuna Ito, I'd probably have my own CD by now. ^_^ Besides, I like to think that the point is to demonstrate how you sound singing like you, not mimicking the original artist. Personally, I'm surprised by the who did win, but that's only because I'm biased against Utada. Kimberly really did sound good as did Melanie. But I see what your saying. Some of my notes are a bit off, but that's the beauty of live performance. People usually forget about that kind of stuff!

@xXKataro well...that kind of comparison is unfair to begin with. First of all this is fanime karaoke. Most of the people couldn't hit all their notes. So yes, out of the people she competed with she should have won 1st place. Second of all, you can't compare this performance with Yuna unless you have heard Yuna Ito perform with such terrible acoustics. I'm sure if this girl had a professional sound studio, mic, mixing, packaging etc her singing could also be "CD quality."

@xXKataro lol...considering the ear of most of those judges I probably would be more qualified. I mean it IS a singing contest...thus singers who can't hit their notes or sing flat should not be in contention for first place.
but this is not about me. I think Laura Marie should've won this contest. If she ever does actually have a sing off against Yuna Ito then that's another contest to judge. Don't confuse your topics :)

she really does Yuna's song justice. If you Yuna heard her sing her song she'd be greatly impressed with her singing ability thats for sure. Man she really sings this song well, and to boot, great strong vocals too, and very on point.
