I liked this style of playing the 1st time I saw/heard it....from MICHAEL HEDGES! Andy is awesome, but an obvious diciple of Michael, and better known since he's all over YT and Michael is deceased. But do this....watch this, and then go watch Miuchael Hedges' "Because It's There". Andy is borrowing more than a little technique, and even the melodies from Hedges.

I don't know if anyone else here listens to Thrice but this song sounds very very similar to the intro to Thrice's song "The Sky Is Falling"

That song came out in 2008 and this video was released in 2009 o.O It could be that Andy McKee was inspired to make this song after hearing "The Sky Is Falling" OR it could just be a huge coincidence that they sound so alike O.O

@Fredchuk13 there are similarities ill grant you that but as for the claim " very very similar" i disagree. the only similarities shared are the following:1. both songs are centered in a minor key and 2.both feature a left hand ostinato against a bassline.however the musical content:chord progression, dynamics, harmonics, and time signatures(McKee enters 5/4 later in the song) is quite different. In the beginning of "the sky is falling" the progression is i,iii,iv. while mr. mckee begins i, vi.
