I've read all of the vampire diaries book including Stefan's diaries and they are all great but the original story line is different from the show. But that's what makes them both so good. For example Elena in the book has blond hair and blue eyes and Jeremy doesn't exist. In the book Elena has a younger sister that is 4 years old.
