@DEINNES Yes, I noted the (rumored) I can't see it though. Nimoy just does not have the voice for Smaug. Richard Boone owned that role and there are few that I can think of that could reproduce a voice like that. I'd say why not get James Earl Jones for Smaug, but do we really want Smaug to sound like Darth Vader? A rough deep almost coarse voice would be best.

When I was really you I thought (I think one of my older cousins mentioned this) that Smaug had something like contacts in that allowed him to see invisible people and that Bilbo was dodging his line of sight.

I love this guy's voice, it really fits the role of an extremely powerful Dragon-lord who's quite evil but enjoys a conversation with riddling and in which he's obviously the stronger being. His boasting along with the music makes for an awesome combination.
