  • lolol ya bozzio is no good . i mean anyone could've played for zappa rite ...... not . i think a guitar can create too many notes , the neck should be cut down to one quarter . shit you can't use all them dam stinkin notes in one tune . hey try spending a bit of cash and maybe ordering a dvd etc from terry . no that would be stupid , way to easier to watch one of his vids and slam the master . typical human move .

  • I have always wanted to do this: Meet Terry in person, look at his drumset, then look back at him and say, "Can I have it"?

  • @d1mw1t666 Does a piano player hit every key an equal amount of times?

  • It's a simple concept. Everyone plays different. He's playing a very different thing. very musical and not drummer/chopsy. What he plays could be a movie soundtrack. Seems egoless to me. This is just what he hears. Don't tell him what he should be playing. he's a MOFo. We know that.

  • JIMMY SULLIVAN<3

  • Bozzio is not arrogant at all, read any interviews with him, or meet the man himself as I had the privilege of doing. He is incredibly humble and even a bit self deprecating about his abilities. In addition to playing as a solo artist he does quite a bit of studio work and playing with other bands and it sickens me to see the negative comments by travis barker fan boys and people who see drumming as a sport and not an art. Drums should be as musical as any instrument & thats what bozzio does!!

  • Travis fucking Barker? In case you were accusing me of being that kind of person, you are SORELY mistaken. I never said the drums shouldn't be musical. After all, a drum set is an instrument..isn't it? :P

My only point with all of this has been, HE. DOES. NOT. DO. ENOUGH. WITH. HIS. GOD. DAMN. SET. That's all. Sure, make music, go crazy, have fun. But don't bother putting yourself on the spotlight unless you're gonna do something truly fantastic. He belongs in a band. End of story.

  • @d1mw1t666

He belongs in a one-man band called the Terry. And he also plays with tons of musicians and they make spectacular work together. This guy is probably the most versatile drummer alive.

  • Sorry meant MP not MS! Oops - a very different then and now...come back Terry, come back!

  • Ok here's an off the comment: Terry's a Capricorn Sun, Leo Moon, - the arrogance can come from the Leo Moon, 'My music/art/performance' but I think what he's doing is creating this kit that mimics Saturn! Like all these masses of little moons around the planet, that have their own note and sounds, that's what the kit looks like!! He was so hot when younger in MS and pouting to the camera though, now he's so *serious* (Capricorn, master-of-craft!)

  • oh you dont need all those drums

  • I´ll always love what Terry Bozzio does on the drums, he´s not only playing, he´s making music all alone, doesn´t need anyone else, i think that´s why he has that huuuuge kit, he´s very smart and of course people who can´t even hold some sticks "hate" him and find bozzio´s drumming boring... Bozzio is the greatest on what he does !!!!!!!!

  • finally, someone who can watch bozzio and not say " oh you dont need all those drums "

  • Does his set necessarily have to be that big?

  • its rythm guys - not speed, bass or something - its like a Bushman ;-) Rhytm to soul!

  • man, i really want to learn how to play like that, like , rhythms outside out 4 and 6, like jazz. i just can't get the feel for it....i got 5/4 down but like, times in 7 or 9 and those other weird ones, i just can't really.....get. makes me respect guys like this a lot more

  • i think that terry is definitely a drummer first and a musician second, and thats why people dislike his style

  • The reason most people dislike Terry Bozzio isn't because of his style, he's not an extraordinary drummer. People dislike him because of his arrogance. Owning a set that big only to play a few notes in a beat and not to use the set to its full potential is a waste.

I mean, watch this video..its boring as hell. He restrains himself to the set so much, but you can tell he thinks highly of himself, just watching this performance. He doesn't do nearly enough with his set..thats it.

  • you need to look at more bozzio. he uses every piece on that set. people dislike him because of his style. he doesn't play traditional beats, he plays notes, hence the many drums. go learn a thing or two before you say anything. he's actually quite humble

  • Actually, from what I've seen of Bozzio he stays routinely (in his different beats) to either the toms or the cymbals. He doesn't combine them often enough.

The fact is with a drumset like that, with so much potential, a better drummer would do alot more. Honestly, I'd love to see Danny Carey on a set like that, taking full advantage of each instrument. The fact is he's not extraordinary.

I know more than you think, especially when it comes to music. And that drumset isn't exactly humble :P

  • "poeple dislike him because of his arrogance".

Jelousy man. It's the most beautifull kit i've ever seen. The guy played with zappa at the age of 16..his just not a cliché shit hole of fast beats and searing cymbals. Music takes so many forms. you ust CAN'T say his not an extraordinary drummer

  • Jealousy??? Give me a god damn break. I could do more with my little set than this guy ever does with his "God set".

As I said. HE DOESN'T DO ENOUGH WITH THE SET. That's it. He limits himself for whatever reason to a particular instrument. AKA rhythm's with the cymbals, or rhythm's with the toms. It's boring. Especially with a set that big. If you're gonna waste all that money and material for something like that, do something with it. That's all I'm saying.

  • Boring simply because he's a solo drummer. That alone proves his arrogance. He's putting himself on the spotlight because he honestly puts himself above other drummers. Only because he's got a big kit, tuned to make different and fun little noises which just barely reminisce a fluent rhythm if played by someone with the potential to do something with them.

The thud of a drum is made for a beat, not a continuous flow of notes. He's not playing rhythm's, he's playing beats. :P

  • a solo drummer proves arrogance? Would you say the same about guitar and bass solos? It's not arrogant - Terry LOVES the drums - it's so obvious - and rightly so, because he is great!

  • As I said, my point is he's not extraordinary. I LOVE playing the drums too, but I'm not setting up venues just so that I can play alone. Terry belongs in a band, not on the spotlight of a one man stage.

He's a good drummer, there's no doubt about that. But he's not nearly as good as he's made out to be, and certainly not as good as he seems to make himself out to be.

  • Boring...lol...only children, and people who are immature use that word for the most part. Terry is a true virtuoso, and one of the greatest drummers in the world, not to mention ever. Trying to make music on the kit using melody, and harmony as well. Who would have ever thought of such a horrible thing? Ignorance is a common thing. [2]

"Ignorance"...i hate it...i don't like this guys that just says:"shit." or something else....

    ¬¬"

  • That was interesting for You - okay, I respect that, but for me it was kinda boring. I remember how Bozzio was playing - for example - with United Kingdom. In nowadays, he build his huge drum kit and can't play something "awesome" on him.

  • And I can respect your opinion, but it actually astonishes me. I'm not even a drummer even I can appreciate that what Bozzio does on drums takes them to a whole other level, yet its still drumming. anyway I just hope he keeps doing it and the headbangers that just want loud or just want fast learn something

  • shit...

  • I love the build up that his drum solos have. Usually when bands do drum solos, they do a song, and during it the drummer solos for 5-10 minutes, sometimes even up to half an hour, while everyone else gets off the stage. After that they go back to the song just in time to end it. Terry Bozzio does it a little bit differently.

  • E' un grande, vorrei tanto andare a vederlo dal vivo. Solo adesso ne conosco l'esistenza e mi ha già appassionato.

  • I really like this video and this style. This is not boring for me.I want more.

  • it's funny to see how people react to someone wiithout thesame tastes...."WHAT?!?! you didn't like bozzio? well you are obviously someone with a severe mental retardation!" "Now tell me who you like so I can call shenannignas on them at once!"

this is a place for comments if there comment is negative, tough shit.... shame on youtube for making a positive negative vote on comments because comments are just opinions.

  • Your rant about others' comments, in my opinion, is shit!

  • yes but what's the deal by saying the video is shit they always say if u like it comment if u don't don't comment it solves all the problems an I agree some people have to lighten up but it's just every person does that sometimes so but I agree completely

  • shut the fuck up knob head

  • io ke ci abito nn lo sapevoooooooooooooooooooo uffa

  • neil peart and alex van halen over terry bozzio any day.

  • I can't say anything for or against van halen, but peart? Come on now. Peart is no slouch, but I really don't want to get bored half to death with 10 minutes of rudiments.

  • bozzio hits random drums.any drummer can do that and they certainly don't need a huge unneccasssssssssary drum kit

  • Grazie per averlo postato!!!

  • Drop dat

  • you know who else is boring? your mother...in bed.

  • I disagree
