@darwindeeez I always thought that Robbo played both solos on 'Johnny' .One passage of lead guitar that has always intrigued me is close to that beginning of 'Downtown Sundown' where a beautiful piece of bluesy guitar is playing over the choir -like effect of Mary Hopkins Visconte's voice.I am usually confident of being able to tell which Lizzy guitarist is playing any given solo but I am not sure of this one .If I had to guess I would probably say it was by Robbo .
Can someone please tell me where can I find this version. I have the Peel Sessions and BBC Radio 1 CDs but this version is not there. The lastest deluxe Johnny The Fox release has a track Johnny (BBC Session 11/10/1976) does not sound the same to me. Correct me if I am wrong. Thank you.
@BluesCreation09 This is from "Tracks From The Vaults - More John Peel Sessions". It contains a lot of the BBC stuff that wasn't released on "The Peel Sessions".
@normanlizard Thank you for your valuable information. Much appreciated. BTW, did you know that the deluxe versions on both Jailbreak and Johnny The Fox releases also come with DVD versions? There is a guy in the UK on ebay selling them. He is the only ones selling them. I wrote to him to get more info regarding the DVDs. I have a feeling the DVDs contain live versions on both the deluxe releases with 4 Live tracks on each CD. That would be so awesome if that is right.
the Peel sessions is a fab CD for any Lizzy fan, the song versions recorded on it are amazing quality and must be the very best I've heard...check them out
I was very lucky to see the band live 3 times, the highlight was the Live and Dangerous tour.................long live Glasgow Apollo and the balcony shake !!!!!!!
Oh yeah!!
