Regardless of what he says, gene is one of the smartest musicians in the world. He made a crapload of money during his prime, and then instead of wasting it away on drugs like a lot of rockstars have, he invested it and kept working doing misc. things with KISS even up to this point. And he is even richer now than he was when he slowed down his music career. He can be a bit arrogant sometimes, but theres no taking away from the fact of how smart he's been, with his career and his money.

They've both been around a long time and are huge successes, but I fail to see how they make any more decisions/have any more influence over new performers than any other music executives. Where do get your information on them being industry gods anyway...they are not. Ex: David Foster has WAY more influence, IMO.

Regardless of what he says, gene is one of the smartest musicians in the world. He made a crapload of money during his prime, and then instead of wasting it away on drugs like a lot of rockstars have, he invested it and kept working doing misc. things with KISS even up to this point. And he is even richer now than he was when he slowed down his music career. He can be a bit arrogant sometimes, but theres no taking away from the fact of how smart he's been, with his career and his money.

If you want to make a point about Gene being so smart...you may want to mention he's a college graduate, used to be a 6th gr. teacher and speaks four languages. Call me naive, and I am, but was Gene just teasing about Adam needing to "shut up about his sexuality"? If not, I really think that's kind of unfair because it's the interviewers and the fans who keep asking him questions about it, he doesn't bring it up on his own from what I've seen. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's what I see. And after the AI performance didn't Gene say Adam was welcome to come out on tour with Kiss anytime? I dunno, but I love both Adam and Kiss in any case.

They've both been around a long time and are huge successes, but I fail to see how they make any more decisions/have any more influence over new performers than any other music executives. Where do get your information on them being industry gods anyway...they are not. Ex: David Foster has WAY more influence, IMO.

I agree with deathcat51, KISS the entire band was not great when it came to singing..the only one thing they did that was great was being innovative in their time..what attracted young kids to them and lets be honest, was the clown makeup and as for the singing none of them were really great...gene is all about money and himself and that is it.

Gene, I realize you are just trying to promote your show for the new season, but why did you have to smear Adam while doing it? Trying to piggy back his fame? Adam will do well, I'm glad that he has answered everyone's questions, so now maybe we can move on. I will not be watching your show this year.

i think gene needs to shut up just in general like obviously she wants to hear your opinion, but why be such an asshole about it, and he didnt just come out because he wanted to i mean yea he wanted to but people were pushing him to do it and he just wanted to set the record straight so i think this guy needs to check himself hes just mad because adam said he wasnt a fan of kiss before he met them and he just wanted his own attention and 15 minutes of people talking about him.

GAWD!! Adam WAS mum on his sexuality publicly for a long time. its not like on his first audition he yelled out "IIMMM GAAYYY AND I LOVEE IT!!!!!" The reason adam came out after idol wasnt bcuz he couldnt keep his mouth shut,he just wanted 2 set the record straight, so wats wrong with that? and 2 the puppy thing: youll see f*** ass gene simmons when adam will be even MORE famous than u, then youll see who the "pup" is. i looove adams face at 0:15. i agree with most of the comments on here. Gene, America DOES care about his sexual preference and that is Adams own choice weather or not to tell the world. I do believe that the woman also has the same idea as me. Im not so sure that, that is what Gene was getting to (telling Adam to shut up) but more telling him that he shouldnt HAVE to tell eveyone. He put it in a offensive way and thats what i think is getting to everyone in this interview. my opinion. ILY ADAM!

k, heres the thing, i love adam and i love gene, but gene is absolutly right about adam's topic that seems yo be everywhere, he's sexual preferance, it seems like its not about his talent so much as his sexuality. and that to me is just sad, and i want to hear MORE about his singing and albums, and LESS about his sexual orintation. i have nothing against gays and lesbians, i myself is is a bisexual so, whatever. it just seems like thats all they ever talk about. and gene is right about that

I think Gene Simmons is the one that needs to shut up. Adam simply answered a question that was on everyones mind. Now simmons on the other hand has his own tv show was in the worlds worst band KISS had tons of merch made of him and so on and so fourth. So my question is whos the one that really needs to shut up? Gene is right, bout pretty much everything.
Adam can join Queens, but its pretty much it, he doesnt have a rockstar voice. i enjoyed his finale with KISS, but everyone im pretty sure was able to see that he wouldnt do very good in a Rock band. as for all the people who dont know Gene, he's a legend so stfu, e he obviously knows what hes talking about.

he says he doesnt have a rockstar voice, but "hes got a Freddy Mercury voice." he wasnt insultng his singing either. Like Gene said, he has a future.

Freddie can sing pretty much anything from rock to [sometimes] country. so if Adam doesn't have a rockstar voice, then how can his voice be like Freddie Mercury? He should've been more specific and said the pop side of him

thats why he should shut up, otherwise you get the people talking and sooner or later, he will lose fans and end his career. anyone who knows music could tell he wouldnt do as good in a rock band, he could have good songs that he sang, but he wouldnt be able to last long, hes not thet type.

im always open to be proven wrong, Slash is willing to do anything because Slash is not doing as good in his career as it pains me to say it. The idol judges arent rockstars, they wouldnt know as gene knows.
