It was she who led the senatorial exile to Albuquerque in an effort to stop DeLay's plan to redistrict us out of several congressional seats. For that alone, she is a hero to all Texas Democrats! The night before this speech, her presence at our contentious SD26 caucus prevented a highly charged atmosphere from degenerating into open warfare. And this speech here set the mood for Hillary's endorsement to be well received.
