I was in the 4th grade when I was fortunate enough to see the whole series beginning with the Quest for Iscandar, the Comet Empire, and the Bolar Wars. I wanted nothing more than to be Derek Wildstar :) Have never forgotten the series ever, despite other subsequent decent anime. AMAZING!!!! A R

I wasn in 3rd grade when they first started airing them in Philadelphia. It still is one of the greatest anime ever. And the stoyr/plot and characters were years ahead of its time. Yamato Forever!!

I love this cartoon very much. Remember I will rush back from school, just to catch this series. Looking back, it is about 23/4 yrs ago. Back in 1983/84, when I was still a middle school kid in Singapore.

Now my children also love it, the music and movies.

heh, Same here in Ontario.We had Force Five before school and Star Blazer after. Great memories! I'm rewatching them with my five year old and you know what, 25 years later it's still GREAT sci fi!

Yeah, I was in elementary school 30 years ago in Japan and I made sure I was home to watch Yamato. My child loves it now, too.^^ The music is stunning.

kuroneko takyubin is a japanese delivery company kinda like FedEx or UPS. The lyrics were a rip off of the old Yamato song and instead of rushing to Iscandar to save the earth, they are talking about rushing people's stuff to them. Cute.
