Buy SSD. Or buy a really expensive drum kit, really expensive microphones, really expensive preamps, really expensive AD/DA, really expensive drum room, well, you get the idea.

Just buy Steven Slate Drums.

@wolfeman28 And then use years of training getting said mics, preamps etc properly set up, mixing the stuff, setting gates, compressors and eq's just right....And when that's done, you find that you'll need a better room to record in.

Drum recording and mixing is an art....but it's just become so much easier, hurrah! Now I can concentrate on getting the guitars sounding right ;)

@kijkenify plastic beater, smaller bass drum (preferably and 18"), tune it evenly as low as you can without making a wrinkle in the head, and use two mikes. akg d112 for the sound hole and an sm57 for the beater. hope that works for you man
