Great lesson for those of us who are attempting to add some jazz to our repertoire. Well explained and demonstrated; easy to follow if you have a little theory under your belt. Your humor also creates a more relaxed atmosphere for learning this style, which can be a bit formidable at times.
you know how you are talking about 5ths and chromatic notes could you please perhaps make a video on your channel to teach about some of the theory involved in this because I'mm confused. Good lessons though :D
David, I am enjoying these videos. Nice contextual framework, fun selection of riffs - pretty much all of them can be "chop shopped" and re-assembled where needed. and I enjoy your wit. I teach and I scan A LOT of videos on here in part to try to improve my own teaching. Your stuff is among the best.
Not only was the lick fantastic, but the explanation (with scale degree and underlying CAGED chord shapes) was the best I have ever seen on YouTube. And I have seen a ton of videos.
I really wish this were 8 bars, then you could've thrown in some turnaround or something that would've given some feeling of resolution and I might've actually tried to learn it.
Excellent! Thank you for sharing your knowledge! Grant Green is one of my favorite jazz guitar players. Thanks!
