  • i bet they made flea sign a contract to tone it down here.

  • 0:57 "I only have that one bowl so..."

  • This is so good.

  • thom yorke and flea... WHATT?! :D:D:D:D:DD

  • this band is cool as shit, some of the best diverse musicians still around in modern music

  • Coldplay = Radiohead for pussy

  • @alejandrobujanos this isn't radiohead.

  • Dang thats cool.

  • I didn't recognise Flea with his shirt on.

  • coldplay wishes they could pretend to play radiohead. Thom Yorke is the man.

  • just erase at once...

  • I didnt know that they covered coldplay!

  • flea looks weird dress up D:

  • omfg! that ending was epic

  • @kkjhhkjhkj thanks for your input

  • @kkjhhkjhkj And this whole time I thought that getting fucked in the ass was what made you a fag. Boy was I way off.

  • I thought this was going to be different than the same old Radiohead stuff, but its not. Not saying I dislike radiohead, but if I wanted to hear them I would just listen to them. If you're going to make a new band at least try to sound different. Take Broken Bells for instance.

  • @IamTheToast1 thom yorke isn't the only guy in this band, man. I'm sure this is different for flea & co.

  • @IamTheToast1 not even the "same old radiohead stuff" stays constant, you can not say that Kid A and In rainbows are the same nor HTTT or OK computer i respect the fact you can like some things more than others but i think that the Eraser album can stand apart in style from all of radioheads music.

  • @IamTheToast1

It's a Thom Yorke solo song, what do you expect?

  • Who is the drummer? Nine Inch Nails?

  • agreed.

  • @redcommando1 then your god eats horse shit.

  • i saw them in chicago last year. blew my mind. if god was a band.

  • flea stalks the stage like a freakin velociraptor

  • I just threw up that was so good. Does anyone know if they will be releaseing an album or redoing eraser? I think eraser is.... kinda boring to be honest. I like Thom Yorke best when he is in a band. The electronic music in that album didnt have as much life to it as i thought it would.

    just my personal oppinion.

  • FLEA!!!!

  • mmmmm why people don´t sings??? maybe they only know radiohead records, maybe they said, " oh thom is playing around with a new band, lets go!! " well that´s a shame... the eraser is awesomee!!!!!

  • lol at first I thought this was a cover band, then I was blown away how perfectly the singer matched the song, and then I realized it was Thom Yorke himself. Lesson learned=if it sounds as good as thom, it must be thom

  • Flea is so sick at the end, jesus! Sounds sooooo good!

  • God I dont know I love thom :/ I really do u_u I love radiohead with all my soul ohhh god! but Im a little scared that radiohead could disolve for this I know is stupid but u_UI just get sad when I see atoms for peace D: (Im from chile sory gramaticals mistakes)

  • @parragho sip, es un poco estupido pero no hay que preocuparse por eso, este año ya van a sacar un nuevo album igual soi de chile :D

  • Saw them in Chicago over the weekend... AMAZING!!!! i couldnt get over seeing Thom and Flee so close. Harrowdown Hill was probably the best, this tune was great too.

  • Basically, anything that involves Thom Yorke is holy to me.

  • the line up is incredible!!!

  • @juju397 shhh shut up, child

  • Don't get me wrong, I love them both, but it's sooooo weird seeing Thom Yorke and Flea play together haha!

  • Don't get me wrong, I love them both, but it's sooooo weird seeing Thom Yorke and Flea play together haha!

  • You are all so starved for quality music that you think Radiohead are gods. They are a mediocre phenomenon.

  • @kinishboy Right. You must be quite the accomplished musician to be calling Thom Yorke mediocre. Yeah, because they only have like 14 Grammy nominations. Yup. By the way where can I buy your cd dipshit?

  • Coldplay is like a carbon copy radiohead that accidently got washed

    ....

  • stop putting radiohead and and that other band in the same sentence, that's just so unfair for radiohead, radiohead guys are pioneers, the other ones just came and stole every element for their own mediocrity

  • radiohead cannot be compared to an earthly band because they're all aliens, and this isn't radiohead. this is Atoms For Peace. its does however consists of one/two of the aliens that were in radiohead. fuckin incredible

  • not to prolong the debate... but yes, coldplay is more accessible than radiohead is. radiohead seems to know how to be just out of reach from the public, yet still be a huge success (as I take it, anyhow). What coldplay has done which is great is they have gotten mindless people of today to stop listening to rap music for a bit... of course I personally prefer radiohead 19390503939045 times more.

  • @grantchestermeadows1

    Midless + Rap = fail

you obviously condemn an entire genre of music because of what's on the outside.

You judge rap by it's cover, combined with maybe a little disrespect for people you think disrespect women and get high all the time creates this situation were you refuse to see anything other then what you saw at first glance. If you were to just turn your head back towards the world of hip hop, you might see a glimpse of the beauty i see in hip hop.

  • I appreciate the opinion, but I personally don't care for rap music, in general, and it isn't really something I want to turn my head to. I prefer rock, alternative, classic rock, etc. Rap/Hip Hop isn't really my thing, you know? Sorry about the derogatory comment, I didn't mean to offend anybody.

  • @grantchestermeadows1

That's totally acceptable, and it's cool we could be reasonable here.

  • What the hell are you talking about? They have sold 40 million albums... if you dont call that a huge success, you are either and idiot or are simply misinformed

  • Of course they are a huge success! I just meant as far as mainstream media goes, they aren't you're average sensational pop-band. I didn't mean to offend you, either- once again I apologize. I was just complementing radiohead on their unique relationship with the public- I didn't intend to demean them. ambiguous wording... I suppose.

  • Well I wasn't really offended, rather surprised. I mean yes, they are not your normal, glitzy, auto tuned, same chord progression pop content... but the difference, I think is that Radiohead creates "music" (an art form) - stuff like Miley Ray Cirus and Lil Wayne is basically marketing... there is no artistic value to be found.

  • I completely agree. That is really what I meant in my first comment- didn't really come out right, though. Radiohead's music is truly in it's own boat.

  • @Bulldog22031 Commercially successful doesn't necessarily make a great artist.

  • I never said it did...?

  • actually I'm a girl, so that wouldn't really be possible. nice try, though.

  • it's from the 40 year old virgin when they're talking about Coldplay... just making a joke

  • oh. sorry.... haha. only seen the movie once- not quite at the 'movie quoting level'

  • word - im not a hater

  • Its to share music with the likes of you :)

I'm happy people film concerts, and it promotes the artist too.

  • Because people get more of a boner being the star that got great footage than enjoying the music.

90% of the time though, it comes out like shit. So, 90% of the time 90% of the population is retarded.

  • Coldply and Radiohead.... that is the weirdest pairing....

    I would never compare them....

    Radiohad is TOTALLY DIFFERENT

  • dude..... FLEA. How awesome is that??? I mean, I could totally see York working with Nigel Godrich, but I never in a million years thought Flea would get on board with this... too cool.

  • Too settle the whole Radiohead Coldplay stealing of sound thing, this is pretty much it.

Coldplay is Radiohead for your mom.

  • My mom really takes offense at that, she is the world's biggest radiohead fan.

  • @sinkingship101

    hahaha great

  • @sinkingship101

Enough with the fucking "Coldplay copies Radiohead" shit!

They're two different bands; get over it.

  • @ybrik222

Yes they are. Thank you :)

  • @sinkingship101 Coldplay is NOTHING like Radiohead(period)

  • @bokanovskification

    (period)

  • the best of america and england together on one stage...amazing

  • flea! :)

  • it's great to see how everybody up the stage is having such a fun time, just amazing :)

  • coldplay are ok. but they are a fake radiohead

  • radiohead is my favorite band, and i enjoy coldplay too. coldplay are nothing at all like radiohead and are not trying to be like them either... so i dont get why you would say that

  • Coldplay is a watered down even more mainstream version of Radiohead with some U2 thrown in for good measure.

  • I'm a collector of all RH music, they're at the top of my list with King Crimson, reasons; talent, musicianship, the fact that evry album brings something new and amazing, Thom's solo output also in my rotation, Coldplay came to this list of comments long before me, I just try to make the point that; because RH music hits a chord in my soul it doesn't mean I don't appriciate more simple forms of music, and even less be so harsh with those that bring music to the world instead of death. peace

  • You'd think that people would have

Had enough of silly love song

But I look around me and I see it isn't so

Some people wanna fill the world

    With silly love songs

    And what's wrong with that?

    I'd like to know

    'Cause here I go again

I love you, I love you

Music is Music and is beautiful whether simple or complex, and those that make music have more right to make a living off of it that those who exploit them, my son is playing "spinning plates" like me he loves RH and Coldplay.

  • i'm sorry to interrupt your state of blissful coldplay adoration, but why exactly did you come here to discuss how much you love coldplay? are there not enough coldplay videos on youtube? personally, i hate to come to every fricken Radiohead/Thom Yorke video and finding people talking either about muse or coldplay. i find that extremely annoying and disrespectful. i come here to listen to thom yorke and talk about thom yorke and i do not wish to see any of this coldplay crap here.

  • Radiohead and Coldplay are both amazing in their own turf, you can't compare them in any way, I can listen to all their releases and not get tyred of it, each serve a mood and a state of mind, today I may go for Kid A and tomorrow for X & Y, not all is gold...I don't appriciate Radiohead first album "Pablo" and the same goes for Coldplay latest "Viva" as much as the rest of their output, but no other band today can get close to these two.

  • you can definitely compare the two. well, chris martin did anyway: "I don't think we'd be anywhere if Radiohead didn't exist. I think we're like why Diet Coke was big. Because some people couldn't handle Coke. That's how I see Coldplay."

  • I see them more like Pepsi amd Coke, one sweeter than the other but the other more intriguing as to "why do I like it" well because is good, I'm glad that both exist and that they're both in the studio.

  • the bottom line is Coldplay is just not in the same league as Radiohead. if their record company stopped flogging them, everybody would eventually stop giving a shit about them. Radiohead is legendary and has a very dedicated and loyal following. they can sell an album simply by posting a link on their blog, "hi, we've made an album, it'll be out in 10 days" and the album goes straight to #1 on billboard charts.

  • you're correct, Coldplay is in a league of their own as it is Radiohead, all Bands has a record company, maybe Radiohead would be still playing small venues if it wasn't for EMI, they made the money and moved on, Coldplay may or may not move in the same direccion, as many other BIG and famous have done, you can compare Zeppelin with Deep Purple but non of those with Yes or Genesis, and non of them with King Crimson, is Rock but it's simply different, it's like compering Bob Dylan and Steve Vai.

  • Coldplay is in the league of money making machine, whoring themselves out and churning out the same dumbed down insipid elevator music catered towards an average consumer album after album. You're absolutely right, they cannot be compared to Radiohead. Where does one even begin to compare?

  • Coldplay is not the first or the last band to be successful, I could have said the same of Radiohead from "Pablo" to "Ok Computer", I understand that you maybe into hard to play and interprete intrinsicate music and lyrics, and hey I do too, but I do respect and have a taste for simple popular music like the one Coldplay delivers, from the first chords of "Don't Panic" from "Parachutes" to the last and hidden track at X&Y I enjoy every son immensely, like "Pablo" "Viva la Vida" is not a fave

  • It's not just about being successful. It's about selling out to be successful. Radiohead did exactly the opposite of what Coldplay is doing. EMI was expecting more "Creeps", and they give them Fake Plastic Trees, Just, and Street Spirit instead. OK Computer was considered an absolute career suicide by EMI with its nearly 7-minute long lead single Paranoid Android. Not to mention Kid A with "weird electronic music" and no singles at all. Radiohead makes art. Coldplay makes elevator music.

  • You like them, that's fine, your call. But they're not anywhere near Radiohead's level.

  • Coldplay is in their 4th album, Radiohead only left EMI after 7 albums (6 studio), they were given freedom to create otherwise no Kid A and what followed would have seen the light, many have suffer from music companies, including my all time fave King Crimson, but they were all part of the Machine at some point, and we all are, because is not the companies the one at fault, is us the humans running them, cause they are like many of us posting this comments, judgemental, lend others your ears

  • Did I say anything about Coldplay or Radiohead leaving EMI? There is a REASON why Radiohead were given freedom to create. Because you can't stand in the way of such genius, even the suits at the EMI realized that. Coldplay is just a cash-cow for them, nothing more.

  • Radiohead was also a Cash-Cow as are all Bands signed to a major label, I don't think Coldplay sell out on the contrary, going with the geni Brian Eno as producer is a big gamble, except U2 all other groups albums produce by Eno don't get appriciate until much later, that is the case of David Bowie's threelogy that included "Heroes" and Peter Gabriel, some U2 followers were not happy, and I personally don't appriciate ViVa la Vida as much as the prior output, but others love it, is all taste

  • Listen, you can believe whatever you want to believe. Nobody will give a shit about Coldplay in 20 years, mark my words. Cheers.

  • how's radiohead a cashcow? they went less and less mainstream with each album. sure every band is expected to bring in some profit, but there are those that are kept on the label for monitory reasons and then there are those who don't make as much but they bring prestige because of universal critical acclaim, etc.

  • all those simplified versions of radiohead like coldplay, the fray, snow partol, etc...they were all brought in to capitalize on the sound that rh made popular with ok computer. radiohead took a major risk there, while those other bands are using the sound that has already been tested and proven successful, plus they dilute it a bit to make it less objectionable and more radio friendly

  • you obviously know nothing about the beginnings of coldplay. they were not "brought in" to emulate radioheads sound. and they obviously don't. they write ballads and love songs.

  • @narek23 very true... Radiohead used to acctualy like them.. then they realized they where shit.

  • i meant that coldplay writes ballads and love songs. not to mention they're pop. how is radiohead anything like that?

  • exactly, they are a pop version of an art group. It follows the same situation that occurred in the 30's and 40's where there were true artists and then there were bands who took their songs, rewrote them, and made them into pop songs. Here, coldplay isn't stealing songs but a sound. They are taking Radiohead's sound, altering the lyrics, and making the sound into a pop song. This itself is "artesk" and postmodern, but not as real and artful as creating a personal sound.

  • so.. they are taking everything of radiohead and changing everything about it. how is that stealing. radiohead and coldplay sound NOTHING alike.

  • its not stealing in the sense of illegal or anything. It is just a numbed and dumbed down version radiohead, made for the masses. And yes, the timbre of their instruments are identical. You know they sound similar and are extremely over exaggerating in order to try and prove a point with no facts, aka, your own opinion. The guitar parts use the same effects, they use extremely similar reverb in the vocals, the bass plays a background sound, and they use a huge array of percussion instruments

  • omg EVERYONE is filming

Axl rose would fight the entire crowd

  • BirdOfPreyvsSparrow

hahahahahahhahahahhahahahhahahahahahahahahahhahahah Coldplay sucks comercial shit in the world....thom yorke and radiohead is magic.......

  • shhhhhhhhhhh xq hablan en el recital loco!! garpan mil dolares para ir a hablar boludeses cuando esta tocando the eraser!

  • Jondy3 .... which came first the chicken or the egg..... does not matter.... Coldplay although a "good" band are a cheap and poorly imitated copy of the mighty and perfect Radiohead. They do sound nice but a live Radiohead show is unmatched. Besides I learned to play ALL of coldplays major hits (on guitar and piano) within 3 hours talent wise they are a joke. But I do like their energy even if all their songs are similar. So don't the insult the Radiohead fan base with your mindless drivel.

  • are you dumb? coldplay wouldn't have a career if it wasn't for radiohead

  • he he the magic of the internet, dear mr jondy3 at this time mr thom yorke and radiohead are the best musical ensemble in the world thank you for your interest in this band

  • my my...... how little you know. I made a profile just to respond to this nonsense. Coldplay (a "good" band) is a cheap and unloved bastard child of Radiohead. Playing with urgency does not mean playing with SKILL..... talent wise the chasm between the bands is the distance between the the poles of the universe. Coldplay has catchy simple beats that can be replicated by any fool in a matter of mins. You need to analyze your opinion, I'm sure you will find it wanting.

  • word

  • how high do you have to be to think coldplay are in ANY way shape or form better than Radiohead. Coldplay sound like verse chorus verse cookie cutter drivel. Radiohead surpassed anything Coldplay could accomplish like 12 years ago.

  • well for the record Coldplay never came out of the closet, but many agree their band has quite the homosexual sound, and im not homophobic, it just, they're awful.

  • Reviews? Like reviews mean anything. And to tell you the truth Radiohead have A LOT of great reviews. Also, Coldplay said Radiohead is one of their biggest influences, which tells you what douchebag?

  • haha I think this is a misunderstanding. Radiohead is way better than Coldplay of course! I meant that If radiohead would play like coldplay(like some of you want) I would never listen to them again. The reviews (and I) say that Radiohead is the best band of the 90 and of this early 21st century. ps sorry for my English

  • @BirdOfPreyvsSparrow this guy has been fucking brainwashed. Ur just naming a bunch of coprorate shit bands that sell out their concerts to moms and tweens. Kings of Leon, Lilly Allen? Lmao!

  • @jabre12 it begins with an s and it ends on arcasm

  • @BirdOfPreyvsSparrow right sorry, forgot I was on the internet

  • A much cooler live setting than radiohead area rock.

  • Come to Barcelona please!!!!

  • la leche¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • Oh fuck.

  • 5:05 is great. nice alternative to the album version.

  • Amazing!!!!!

  • i love the analogue version of this song

  • "he's so close" lol

  • Who the fuck shouts creep a a gig like this! You can just hear him before the song starts... idiot!

Anyway, this is amazing! Anyone know if they are going to tour this?

  • someone probably told him who thom yorke was moments before he shouted that.

  • possibly next yearrrrr!!!!!

  • Why the fuck not shout "creep" at a gig like this. It's like yelling "play freebird" while someone is playing Bach (highly recommended). People shouldn't be expected to act all proper just because Thom Yorke is onstage.

  • No, maybe they don't have to act all proper... but if you are going to heckle at a gig... at least put some thought into it! Or else you just end up looking like a tit!

(although there is a part of me that finds yelling freebird at a bach recital quite amusing!)

  • shouting "play freebird" at any concert is a douchebag thing to do, no matter who's on stage.

    same goes for "creep" imho.

  • Better to be a douchebag than an uptight pseudo-intellectual which unfortunately many radiohead fans are.

  • 1:19 "he's so close" creeper

  • lol

  • haha didn't notice that before

  • I love the drums, the bass line its just perfect

  • WTF Thom!! Come to Seattle!

  • Oh god, his Jazzmaster makes me shit myself.

    (This is a good thing.)

  • Goosebumps when that basslline kicks in.

  • Thom is at his peak again.

  • i realise this might sound a little, er, 'skewed'.....

....but look at all those gimps with their fucking recording equipment.

  • it was partially a press show.

  • shame

  • i know this guy... good stuff man thanks for posting BONNNAROOOO

  • why can't I live in LA right now ? This is beyond amazing!

  • This is so fucking amazing. GOD

  • sorry, i prefer the solo version like in Latitude festival. Anyway, Thom <3

  • this crowd is annoying

  • radiohead is a great band.....but this is just a funky shit.......and i think thom is better without these guys......and JONNY IS GOD

  • get over it.....this is new and good....your like one of folk lot when dylan went electric

  • SUPER BAND!!

  • wow thanks so much for this

  • I love the song... first time I see it live in a full instrumented version

  • too cool. flea, rem, thom yorke(my personal idol), together in a band. who would have thunkith:) god its great.

  • holy shit the ending

  • thom is always great, but i don't know: even with flea being great, his bass playing is too much rhcp for me.

  • omg this is soo killer. especially flea's bassin
