  • Thanks for these great lessons. I have a question about this one. I’m a native English speaker and I don’t prounounce 'sh' or 's' with my teeth fully closed. I don’t believe that most native English speakers would make these sounds with the teeth fully clenched. This leads me to conclude that the key to pronouncing the correct Chinese ‘x’ or ‘q’ sounds is the placement of the tongue, not the teeth. Can you please explain placement of the tongue for these?

  • @lategates q and x are pronounced with the tongue slightly further back than ch and sh, you're right, the tongue placement is key.
