@DxMaster14 I saw them here and I am old to enough to have seen a live gig with Steve Perry... there is no way you can compare them... just like there are people who swear by Van Halen with David Lee Roth and those who like Sammy Hagar, there is no way to say which is better... it's all personal preference. If you prefer Steve Perry, fine. Just don't make an extremely short-sighted and ignorant comment like that.

Why are Pineda and Perry fans always attacking one another? Pineda is no Steve Perry and shouldn't be compared. Perry was great but his time with the band has passed and he alone wasn't the band. So people should stop bitching that Journey has been reduced to a 'lounge' or 'karaoke' act. Perry wasn't the original singer when he joined, but he helped make Journey famous. For the same reason, Pineda should be appreciated for Journey's rebirth and renewed success.

see im supposed to be going to see them tommorow with heart and cheap trick.but there is so much as a music artist my self that i can point out that is way different. and these songs that i grew up on like this one,i dont like change,i mean ya i know steve perry was not the original singer but he sang this song first and i dont like the change!

I understand what you mean. The new singer tries to maintain the integrity of Steve Perry's legacy in the songs he made famous, but he admits Steve Perry he ain't. The only thing is, Steve Perry doesn't look as if he's ready to make a come-back with the band anytime soon. If you've ever seen the video of Perry at the White Sox World Series win, you may not appreciate the change in his voice as well. He sings an octave lower than he used to, and his voice isn't as smooth anymore.

The band as a whole still sounds great. Arnel is very energetic, running jumping around. If Steve Perry was singing, I'm sure he wouldn't be moving around very much due to age and a bad hip. It was a good time if you can relax and keep the thought out of your head that it should be Steve Perry instead of Arnel singing those songs.

Also, keep in mind that the band has had three incarnations since Perry left. The band is doing great with this album and it's all thanks to the discovery of this current singer. It may not last long, so enjoy the ride.

If I had to guess, I must have been a good 150 to 200 feet away from the stage. The seats were pretty good, but the zoom feature made it better. I bought the camera hoping to use it for Journey and I was happy with the results. Otherwise, it's useless in the dark.
