  • Made some mashed taters tonight with my world-famous meatloaf. Followed your recipe exactly as you've shown here. I had a hunk of smoked gouda cheese so I used that along with a bit of sharp cheddar. All 4 of us agreed they were probably the best mashed potatoes we've ever had. This recipe is now on my 'A' list. MANY THANKS!

  • Steamed baby new potatoes (halved) with mustard spread on cut makes for a nice entree or snack too. Offer or experiment with a variety of mustards too - Who has the munchies now? Yum.

    Mate, the reason they use Salt and Pepper in food is cos it makes the natural flavours more intense.... really brings out the flavours. Good to see ya cookin. How about some more cookin vids?!?! Brings back memories!! cheers.

  • lol, thickened cream not sour cream in your recipie.... but in all honesty, I think sour cream is better...mind you i also add some fired onion and a bit of fried diced bacon too....but thats just me.

    I was a pro cook on and off for the past 20years, too much like hard work mind you lol. The amount of times customers say they have an allergy to this or that can usually be translated to:

    allergy to beans=dont want "wind"

    allergy to garlic/onoins=dont want bad breath

    allergy to butter=minding their weight

    In Italy they put olive oil on their mash, also very yummy, iv tried other good cold pressed oils like sunflower and have had good results.

    PS. pros use a whisk

  • Micko's kitchen is great on Blog TV if anyone gets to watch. He's an instant hit. What do you reckon Pete, is it better for me and Colin to move to Tweed heads (NSW Benefits, work in the Gold Coast, haha), Noosa Heads (Do I know anyone there?), or Cairns? Cairns is the cheapest and there are some courses there at JCU which are OK. Lots of Sydney people are ready to leave as rents have smashed the ceiling, and so many have to go somewhere.
