I get that it will be optional. At the moment when I install windows for people the UI and it confuses me for a while. Then I remember that it autos to aload of jibberish.
My point is more that people are stupid enough already with out adding what is essentially a touch screen interface to desktop machine where mouse and keyboard will always (if used right) be the more efficent means of interaction. I bet some people in work will demand this interface sigh :(
@byrneball1 it follows microsofts patternm of good, crap, good, crap, good, crap anyway these are widgets, not a replacement ui and hopefuly windows 8 will be imporved for desktops.
Hey, are we going to be able to make our own tiles? Example, if I create a website and make a tile that has a live feed (news, featured content etc...) that auto updates. I'd like to put on my front page "get my live tile" and when people install it, it'd pop up right in their win8 start screen.
@izlude2 not sure, search google for omnimo, the platform it runs on (rainmeter) is heavily open and customizable, so probably but this is a skin, not an app, the guy who made it has put out addons, you could request it though

Metro is KDE Plazma clone :) I'm using it for, well, 3 years? since KDE4 released.
Think they build time machine, but confuse future and past :)
