I got this for xmas one year when I was around 4 or 5 loved it got very angry and knocked the board over once when playing with my older sister and her boyfriend.
Was like the only 3 dimensional board game I played as a kid, was such a rush... I went and gave it to a neighbor when I moved out, like an idiot and I hope he fckin enjoys it haha
I have this game :D it's awesome. kiiinda hard to get people together to play it though these days. I wish they'd make an online version of it, but it would be pretty hard to get the fireball rolling right, even with a physics engine. i=In the game, there was always a chance you'd be safe from a fireball, if you positioned your dude right, or if the ball was rolled wrong wrong. they'd have to make sure there's an element of chance with the rolling.
OMG anyone remember the lion king board game where there were spinning skulls and then you had to fling bugs from a tree stump and then there was a rotating reflector pond and THEN at the very end there were three boulders and you had to fling simba at them and if the boulder had scar behind it....YOU WON.
THIS game, fireball island, and other games of the sort were SO EPIC.
anyone remember this game im talking about? it was just like this. i had it as a kid. you and some people climbed up a mountain, and it had a tasmanian devil (or some sort of monster) that would spin down the mountain to hit the players in the way on the way down (unless you moved in a corner on your turn). real fun. i would just play with the monster itself and spin it on stuff around the house lol
Hes still the angry nerd, anyway why the fuck do you care? haha i mean damm i just left " Angry Video Game Nerd" as a comment next thing i know i got hanging from my balls about it kick back.
I still have my copy. Miraculously, I was able to retain all of the little bits through my childhood, it is a complete game. Whenever people hear that I still have it, they want to play. Such a great game.
this brings back some memories; hunting around to find all of the bits for the bridges when i was about 10... then playing with a massive drunken group when i was 18...
i wish they still had it, and i wish they werent $200+ on ebay.
whoever milton bradley is, he's a dick. i hope you fall down in the shower, you fireball-island-denying old coot!
This looks like one great game! If you ask me,Milton Bradley should bring back games that are greatly missed like this one.Even Forbidden Bridge and other games from the 90's and 80's.
This game is hands down the best board game ever made. It becomes pretty tactical if you are playing with advanced players. It's too bad they don't re- release this game.
I found this game in the trash when I was a little kid(1991 or 92) and a few years afterwards, my mom threw it away. About two years ago I bid on a mint fireball island on ebay and won it!! 65 bucks and worth every penny!
i just played this in italy a few weeks ago- my boyfriend had got it when he was a kid "l'isola di fuoco". i didnt even remember it but it rocks!! i tried to fnd one online and that shit costs 200$!!
oh, holy shit! I had forgotten all about this game. The fire-spitting head thing used to scare me so bad as a kid, yet I'd always pack it around with me and consult it on matters of crushing ants and important rocks to keep.
I got this game at a thrift store when I was young in the early 90's and it was my FAVORITE board game of all time. It was thrown away without me knowing about it some years later and now it sells on ebay for like $100. Damn it all.
Just picked this game up complete and in pristine condition on eBay for a cool $135. It was definitely worth every penny and the game is even cooler than I remember! Everyone should track down this classic.
This is by far the best board game ever. I'm just said that it's out of print and we can't have everyone join the fun. I still have my copy of it though with all of the original pieces and everything. I could probably get like a hundred bucks for it on eBay, but it is by far too awesome to sell.
Thanks for this. Until I saw this video I had been wondering why so many references to this game showed a very dark board. My mom got me this game in the mid 90s for 5 bucks from a garage sale. Fortunately for me it was not only complete but the original 1986 release. The 1992 version is noticeably different with a much darker themed board and a different looking Vul Kar.
I have been scouring the internet for the past ten years looking for this. When I first saw it 21 years ago, I thought I found God. Thank you. Thank you, for finally putting the best thing on the internet. :-)
