That was easily a 60 ton boulder. It was already cracked and overhanging the trail below. The Specific gravity of the stone was around 3.0, and it weighs about 200 pounds per cubic foot of stone. I climbed it to help lasso the boulder. Just a little mathematics will help you figure out the weight. A one foot thick rock slab that is 9 feet by 9 feet is 8 tons, and a 9 feet by 9 feet by 8 feet boulder would be 64 tons.
