  • its not like it was a tornado cuz that would've been deadly

  • And your Dumbass is just standing in the middle of everything like nothing can harm you -_-

  • Guess I was wrong about the blonde guy, I do see him now trying to reach a hand out to them early before more water rushes in. Sorry about that.

  • How high was the wave when it hit the shore?

  • So many people thought it was neat when the water receded, they ran out to grab fish even, completely unaware of the wall of death approaching. Ill never forget that tiny silhouette of a person just standing there frozen as it approached, he never even tried to run

  • Notice how the blonde guy in swimming trunks did nothing to help save the eldery

couple struggling against the water. Guess he's a product of these times.

  • @jdollinter Have a look at the documentary 'Tsunami caught on camera',( you'll find it on Youtube) to see exactly what that blonde guy did for the elderly couple. In the end he helped save the life of the old man, unfortunately the old lady died. In that situation what would you have done ?? probably nothing !

  • @jdollinter Are you kidding me. Those people were a lost cause, did you see how powerful those waves were? If you try to rescue them then you might get killed along with them.

  • Unreal.

  • dear God....I hope those people at about 5 minutes were alright....this is so horrible, God bless the families of those that were lost..

  • Is it just me or we have to witness stuff like this every year now?

  • So the tsunami 'came again', but people still felt the need to be mucking about outside when it returned?

  • father is so idiot ( look kids wave )

  • the second clip they were lucky.

  • The hell, man... I can't believe I just watched kids die. And no wonder so many people died, it's like they had no Tsunami awareness at all. They're just standing at ground level and watching. They didn't stand a chance. But seriously...if you're the first cameraman, and you'd rather record children being swept away than to try to save them from being swept away, you're probably better off being at ground level during a 40 foot high Tsunami.

  • omg those poor kids

  • Dude from 1st clip films as couple of kids gets sweep by waves but keep rolling. What an a-hole. About two eldery getting swept from restaurant video, man lived but woman unfortunatelly not. They were Sweds. There was an interview with him and man who rescued him on TV. OMG @ 2.04 wave height. At first I thought it's ilussion coming from cam angle, but than watch carefully as cam shows same wave again.

  • terrifying!

  • This was back in 2004. Most people don't even know what's a tsunami is. But now, we are more alert.

  • That couple outside the restaurant breaks my heart.

  • @feelingsupersonic19 I agree with you.I know its awful for all involved but when you see that couple and they get swept away its terrible. You actually see the man climbing up rails but not with his wife in another clip. So sad.

  • @r1g58y243 oh no way:( its devastating. cant even imagine it. did he survive?

  • This is what I will never understand. EVERY one of those people were aware that a Tsunami was coming. They can take hours to reach shore. And yet they still chose to go down to the beach to watch. I dig being curious. I'd like to see a Tsunami too. But I'd rather see the next day.

  • @teejate -I totally agree with you!

  • @teejate Not everyone was informed about it. Especially the shores closest to the epicenter are hit sooner than we expect. Keeping in mind its 2004 and we didn't have facebook and twitter those days to alert people. It is tragic and many people have actually died in the very footage shown above..

  • Thumbs up, if you are watching this because of the tsunami in japan

  • OMG why did know one help those kids!!! The little girl looked only 5 years old!! and no it's not alright!! Its a Tsunami!! like if you agree with me

  • El mejor fue el ultimo

  • youtube uploaders are heroes

  • i fucken hate the ocean !!!

  • so scary

  • I'm going to believe that man was able to hold onto his wife and they both survived.

  • @MistyOjaiGirl I have a feeling that man is from Australia and I recall him tearfully retelling how he could not hold onto her any longer, truly very sad. All of this very very sad. My thoughts go to everyone who experienced this dreadful disaster.

  • OMG

  • This is so scary.. I wish I died instead of all of those who lost their lives here.

  • @wepper5 why you ?

  • My guess is that they didn't realize it was quite as huge and devastating as it was until it was too late. I mean maybe I'm wrong- I know things look different on camera- but those waves don't look THAT huge to me until they are crashing into the sea. At least judging by this video I don't know if I'd have run, I'd have thought I was far enough back at the point where these people are. Once it hit, though, I wouldn't have stood there filming. :)

  • that water goes by so fast at 5:07 and those poor people,.

  • wow... I couldn't believe that the water went so high in that restaurant!!! Did water get on that camera on that last clip?

  • @Galodude I don't know. It's not my video. Chances are some water did splash up on the camera, but apparently not enough to damage the camera.

  • hey kids lets stand on the beach when a tsunami is about come!!!!!! fuckin fools

  • @SuperMr503 you couldn't tell it was a tsunami? It was some huge wave

  • @SuperMr503 you couldn't tell it was a tsunami? It wasn't* some huge wave

  • i guess 'fight or flight' just never kicks in for some people, didnt seem like people really started to panic till walls were coming down and cars were gettin pushed

  • why did the idiot not stop filming and help the children?!

RIP to all those poor people who lost their lives xox

  • why would you stay an record a tsunami instead of running for your life?

  • wow retarted chinks.. stand there filming it, wen its 5 seconds to impact "oh shit run for it"

  • So cool but i dont wanna be there right now!

  • Poor kids :(

  • Was the tsunami you rode on 45 feet high, and travelling at 300 mph?

  • Upload the vid

  • @jproducts big deal might be that people died cause unfortunately their not all worldclass surfers like you, selfish prick

  • @MiniDinz Amen to that!! Brilliant!!

  • @jproducts O.M.G!!

  • @jproducts so you rode a wave going faster than your car can hope to go? mustive been a short ass ride.. who u impressin

  • Too Sadd

  • great video. Scott (BUG)

  • maybe he thought the camera was nice

  • Oh my god kids! The dickhead is to busy filming to help the bloody kids.

  • I love this movie. Dennis Quaid predicted the Tsunami and it came! Then it got cold and NY froze. Wow! Thanks for posting it!

  • looks like shaw took this video he aint trippin or anything

  • how the fack did this vid eva get here

  • Is there a reason the idiot filming this did not drop the camera to try and help those kids?

  • It's obvious that by looking at the sheer force of the raging water, it would have been nearly impossible to do anything but watch helplessly.

Maybe he thought that the best help he could give was simply to record exactly what the power of water CAN do, so that others can see the devastating effect nature can have, and in doing so, warn others.

Maybe more lives will be saved from watching this video than could have been saved by risking the cameramans' life to help those in the video.

  • @milew666 so we could watch it :)

  • @milew666 Who the Fuck would risk their lives if they want to fucking live?

  • @milew666 if you look closely at the end of that clip, they are fine. they're standing against the rail.

  • @milew666 i was wondering the SAME THING!!! omg!

  • @milew666 nah he just wanted youtube views :P

  • yeah antonie y did u watch it then? like u u suck 2 wat if that happen 2 u 2 but anyway awsome video i feel sry 4 the ppl

    :(

  • RIP to those who lost their lives.

  • Indeed. If only those nations had a developed system such as the US & Japan to warn of an approaching tsunami. Certainly, lives would have been lost, but perhaps not nearly as many as there were.

  • This is amazing. Compelling.

  • umm this sucks

  • No one forced you to watch it, Antonie.

  • why did you watch it then?
