The recent discoveries of new oil fields which contain trillions of barrels are only mentioned briefly in the news. There are oil fields with enough oil for over a thousand years. That's not to say we shouldn't concentrate on alternative energy resources it is just that the peak oil scare is to increase per barrel cost in the future for unwitting dupes.
