The most listened song for me for 2 years now. Last year, when I found this, I had maybe 500 playcount on winamp, this year 800 more. So positive and upbeat that I could listen this forever and just smile. Thank god I found "free mp3" code for local seller so I could buy this song since they don't sell the 2 disc version in here.
@aconradful buy it! you know, with money? metric are an incredible band and if we are to even be aware of equally good bands in the future we have to be prepared to support them
yes, this song could have been thrown on the album no prob... the perfect example of them making the simple and predictable sound completely original.
@Presentboy It's a term to refer to a band's less popular or know tracks. It comes from Vinyls and Cassettes where people would buy a single from the Vinyl or Cassette. Since the Vinyls and Cassettes had two sides to record songs bands would give their A-Side (the popular hit song) with the B-Side (the less played song on the other side of the Vinyl or Cassette).
tl;dr it's like the Hidden Tracks that are on most CDs today. It doesn't really matter because this song, and Metric, rock!
Why in the world was this left off Fantasies??? Blindness could have easily been left off in place of Waves. Hell... I could have lived without Collect Call if this would have been in its place. Just shows how much Metric rock! This was in the discard pile! Emily, Jimmy, Josh, Joules.... I can't wait for you to come back to Detroit!!!!!
N-n-n-no... They couldn't have taken off Collect Call. I could've lived without Stadium Love, I'd end up finding it on youtube anyway and listening to it and loving it as much.
This is fantastic. I didn't know it existed until it was used for the background on their new behind-the-scenes from Australia video. Could easily have made it onto Fantasies.
you've gotta be kidding me fantasies was some of their best work, while i think all their previous three albums are great and static anonymity which was nice and raw, fantasies has some of their best tracks to date, like the three singles off of it, gimme sympathy, help i'm alive, sick muse, then other tracks like this, front row, blindness etc. and it definetely was not over produced i really don't think metric over thought any of the musical components in their music, but hey that's my opinion

The new album was. Basically the message that Metric put out with Fantasies was "sexyness sells". They just went completely mainstream and gave up the lyrical and raw music they were famous for. Out of their new songs (in their later stages, I mean), Freddie was probably the only one I considered "amazing", and they didn't even include it on their album. Fantasies is my least favorite of all the metric albums.
Ya i guess i can see where youre coming from with the sexyness sells, but i dont think its their fault for going mainstream because all that means is their music appeals to more people which is whats bound to happen if they produce great songs like they do and i also disagree with them giving up on their lyrics cuz i still think theyre amazing and they lost their rawness ya, but now they are more refined and fine tuned, but watever your entitled to your opinion and i still think theyre amazing
i completely agree. metric is still amazing. they're lyrics are still powerful and meaningful, and not mainstream. sure, they've gotten more mainstream, but they're still different and their music is still amazing and unusual. i adore them, and i think this is one of the best albums yet.
Oh, don't tell me again, I won't see you again...
