awesome hard rocking pomp rock as it was meant to be !!! this live reunion sounds even better than the original studio version , nothing less than brilliant !!! love them
Not bad song. Some decent music out their that never made it that far.....
This band was probably never played by a New Zealand radio station, but one of their CDs turned up today in a music store i frequent and I was curious of their name, their look and the year of the album. Better than average song this.
wow what a great band, my bands here from indy and we play lotta 70s 80s 90s and 2000s rock, weve been thinking bout covering this tune, But out of respect for Roadmaster we are gonna ask them in person to if we can.
@padamein Dude, just do it! Trust me they won't mind. I've been in bands and its the highest form of compliment if some one wants to cover your song. I love this song and I personally would love to see such an awewsome tune "not be forgotten".
Rockin picnic jam sponsored by q95. Remember yevonne. She was so cool but trying to remember all the bands. Henry Paul band, roadmaster and that's all I have. Great times.
@Patndf hey are you talking about the rockin pinic back in the day at eagle creek
park, if you are remember that drunk jerk who ever he was, he was cusing at old lady and at roadmaster and then about 1/2 later he tryed swimming and drowned there at the beach
Great News!!!!!!! The Roadmaster Reunion Show has been digitally remastered and is available on DVD. Send Toby Myers a message on Facebook and he'll hook you up!
I saw them in Kokomo at Havens auditorium in about 79 or 80. I was about 15 at the time and I was completely blown away. They rocked the place! Thanks for posting.
The last time I saw them play was I think the Xmas concert at Market Square they were one of the warm up bands. They rocked the house and I heard later the headliners were a bit pissed. I loaned this album to a guy and never got it back....miss these days
i will never forget roadmaster! i first seen them in Lafayette at the mars theatre dowtown! i am now 42 and still wish i could go back to those days... where can i find roadmaster cds?
Hey ev1, former road crew member here, would love to hear and see "hey world" If anyone has it, i'd be forever in their debt if they posted it. (light man from 1982 to 1985)
This was the best damn band ever to come out of Indy.I have all their albums, and have seen them way more times than I can count.I was at this show and my ex and I are seen in the video in the crowd shots.Michael Reed came into the bar I work at about a month ago,he still is just as cool as ever, and to my amazement, he remembered me from all those years ago.I miss these guys, and I miss Mac,he's got heaven rockin' I'm sure.
Years ago i used to drag race in the central Indiana area and there was a 68/69 chevelle with Roadmaster on the side i raced a few times, what was the connection to the band? These guys rocked in the day.
I love the Band I keep in contact with Craig Watson he still plays music and sounds great. He is a Christian now and plays Christian rock. He is great guy and has played several concerts for me. Rock on Roadmaster
another indy guy here, I ran lights for roadmaster in the early eighties, Back then it was Bone, Rick, And Craig Watson was singing for them. Been a long time but I remember some great times with them at the vogue, the patio and the razzmatazz. Keep rocking guys!
In 1977 my father who worked for Chappell Music Publishers-UK, played me the Album Sweetmusic and said they were hoping to sign them.I was 16 at the time and thought this album was the best thing I ever heard. I had their name all over my school books. Problem was in England no one had ever heard of them and I spent years of frustation trying to find out about them. I just want to thank Roadmaster for developing my musical taste and You Tube(Clipstoview)for bringing back so many happy memories.
I saw these guys in concert when I was 14. It was my very first concert. Man did they rock. My older brother and his now wife took me and my first love to the show. Now I'm 46 and can still remember everything about their music. The first love was a great girl but now is long gone. I can, however, still remember all of the shows I saw Roadmaster in. I wish I had some of their albums, but thanks to YouTube I can still fade back to the mighty '70's.
I grew up on Indy's northside and used to see these guys all the time, in concert and out on the street. I never got to see them in a club, as I was in my teens in the 70's, it was always in concert opening for a big touring band, like Foreigner or Journey. Same with Faith Band. I have all of Faith's albums and most of Roadmaster's. Mac was a cool dude, as was John Cascella of Faith Band. Man, those were the good old days. God bless and rest Mac and Johnny C.
Can you tell me what happened to Mac? I heard thet he had cancer, but looks fabulous in this video. I moved away from Indy in 1988, and lost track of the guys. thanks for any info!
Mac passed away from pancreatic cancer in March of 98. Such a loss to all of us who knew and loved him. He was a very special spirit and the Angel Band got a great lead singer when he joined them in heaven.
They blew away Aerosmith in Dec 1979 at Market Square Arena. One of the guys who started "Sunshine promotions" said if Roadmaster were on the "west coast" they would have been HUGE on a national level...wrong place...too many REO's/Styx/Journey's/Kansas's at the time. Sad they were very good. I saw them no less than 20 times in concert.
The Best band Ricky Benick ever played in was, Benjamin Franklyns Electricol Company Band. Those Oxon Hill Boys Were Way Too COOL. Stumpy Smithson, Ricky Benick, & The Late Petey Bishop. & They were just Ass Kicken, Little Kids at the time.
I HAVE a VHS "true" version of this,it IS in pretty good shape so far! Sound and picture are excellent,BUT video quality IS deterrorating! ALL celluloid does. I would be willing to tape a copy for you, considering you made it worthwile. I would check for quality b4 mailing! Your call!
Harry, did you ever get your copies of the cd's? I am looking for ANY Roadmaster on CD (or mp3) I can get my hands on. My hubby is crazy 'bout these guys!
I have "HEY WORLD", SWEET MUSIC" and Fortess on CD. They were remastered to CD, Got them from Ebay. It sucks that the songs that ran into one another on the vinyl is broken now. Not sure how we can email privately, would be glad to help.
Definitely a great band! Sure would like to see a video performance of US COMIN'BACK and YOU MOVE ME, two really great songs. In 1980 they played at the Mars theater in Lafayette, Indiana. The concert was promoted by the radio station Z96, so everybody only paid 96 cents to be a part of a two hour plus performance. Guitars were flying through the air in the middle of a song without missing a lick! Very Cool stuff! My first concert too. Took a couple of days to get my hearing back!!!
Favorite band ever So sad to lose Mac at such a young age. Mike, Rick, Toby, Bobby and Mac deserved greatness. Toby is a hall of famer with Mellencamp
My dad was a record salesman and he gave me a copy of their first few albums. Always thought this band was going to make it big. Still listen to their albums on occasion.
Saw these guys in Vincennes, Indiana at some roadhouse in front of 20 people, and at the Water Bowl in Muncie, Indiana. Saw them in '83 with a black bass player and adiffderent lead singer. Always thought if they had better songs they'd have been another Journey.
I am from Vincennes and saw the band just across the river at the 312 Bar in Westport. Does that ring a bell? I also caught them in Bloomington at Oscars. GOOD TIMES!!!
@adidasten That's cool! Steve was my cousin. When I was a boy, his mom gave me all the albums, and a broken drumstick! I was pretty happy about it! Miss you Mac!
Ricky B. You rock with great tone and feel!!! Always loved watching you play and still do! This solo had a big influence on my playing.

Yes Roadmaster was first then Mothers Finest, and they sucked, and justly shuffled off as the audience asked for Roadmaster. LOL It was a great show.
