  • Wouldn't this be better called "How to use BASH"? At least on this video everything talked about was bash related. Red Hat may use bash but all linux out of the box use bash unless the user changes it. Just a thought.

  • Thanks for the info Penn Jillette. tell Teller I saw hi.

  • If you find this video interesting you are no way close to being ready to your RHCT/E

  • wtf ?? =)))))) hahahahahha .... c'mon... this is bullshit =))))) you need this for RHCT ? hahahahahhahahahahah ....

  • Awesome vid!!

    Keep it up!

  • This has been helpful, as a Linux n00b, I picked this O/S for security and learning. This video has been somwhat helpful in softening the learning curve.

  • why not use dos?

  • @jamesmx7 Cause Dos sucks

  • @Grayfox3214 aint that basicaly dos?

  • @jamesmx7 no, because Dos uses a register. And a Redhead (shell) puts direct a command line to the Kernel of the O.S

  • @Grayfox3214 why not have a graphic o.s like microsoft / chrome / mac ect? is this for network computer / servers?

  • @jamesmx7 Beacuse it an command line interface terminal.

The function for this is that it gives direct commands to a server/Database.

For security, or for special use.

Having an GUI means that there is a need for API. What needs to development, and that results into more costs in a company.

If you want to have a Grafical interface, you can try Ubuntu or other OS's from Linux.

  • @Grayfox3214 i see.

  • goood

  • The use of accolades is awesome. Didn't know that.

  • Too choppy! Looking at your face does not help me! Need to focus more on the screen. When you go to the screen you are adjusting it and then going away from the screen and too fast talking when spouting the for examples. Cannot humanly pickup when you are talking that fast.

  • going to take RHCT thanks for the vid

  • Thanks Brad for the info. Was wondering if you have any postings or links to info about installation of packages? I installed RHEL5 recently and have a few questions. How would I remove an installed package from the system? Also, what are my steps to install an additional package if needed? Is it "yum 'name of package'"? Does RHAT offer a master listing of package names? I am trying to determine if I should rebuild the server but would like to have this info for future reference.

  • @superbad1133

    man yum

  • cool info

  • fantastic video!! thank you. you should make more:D

  • Would be much better if you didn't speed over the actual display of what you are doing.

Film yourself less and show what you are doing more,
