  • waittttttttttttttttttttt a minute

  • Piper made it feel real.

  • Piper is insane and dangerous. People are smart to fear him.

  • Did Rowdy Roddy Piper ever win a World's Championship Belt?

  • Piper. OWNS.

    ....everyone else.

    EVER.

My #1 favorite of all-time, ever....with Savage and Hart close 2nds and 3rds. Hulk WHO? (Flair was one of the greatest of all-time as well, but is pissing all over his own legacy with this TNA run he's putting us through.)

  • Piper and Flair in the NWA way more fun than Piper and Flair in WWF. Every wrestler that went from NWA to WWF/WWE was better in the NWA. WWF/E scripted all the promos NWA did not.

  • You ate correct, Mr. Solie, Piper never ceases to amaze, indeed. What a team! Solie is such a good straight man to Piper's manic one liners.

  • wow! i remember this like it was one hr. ago. this was the best wrestling ever and they need to bring it back and make it just like it was, NWA forever wwf never

  • Ivan Koloff may be the first wrestler ever to use 3rd person speak! Awesome!

  • I hated Ole Anderson then.I hate Ole Anderson today.Love it.

  • The only thing Ole deserves is his fuckin' teeth knocked out. LOL

  • piper is the man!!!

  • Strong as an ox and almost as smart....bahahahahahahahahahahaaha

  • Amazing..The Great Old Days....

  • I saw this when it first aired. Didn't know the reasons fore the heat but it was great.

  • Or iron shriek with mean gene okerlund 85... And please with the flag

  • Youtube macho man on coke and macho man randy savage on cocaine mean gene is classic

  • Naw I would choose mean gene. His promos with macho man and ric flair will out do anything solie did. Not knocking solie he was great also tho.

  • piper was the best. i never koloff get that pissed off before. ole went down quick.

  • piper was the best. i never koloff get that pissed off before. i didn't understand

  • Ole Anderson became a really bitter person, which had a detrimental effect on his health, as we now see.

  • Roddy Piper was 'King of the Hill', at this stage. Gordon Solie told 'Entertainment Tonight' in an interview in 1982, that Piper was the most unusual yet entertaining wrestler he had ever known. 'He was an island unto himself'.

  • Strong as an ox and almost as smart. Classic. And nobody does it better than SOLIE!!

  • In 1/2 the time of a modern Cena promo they turned up heat between Piper and Morocco, started heat between Piper and Koloff, and boiled over the pot on the heat between Piper and Ole.

  • Say what you want about Ole, I always liked his look and interviews. He looked real, sounded real, and by most accounts, was real. The story he told about Gene Anderson was amazing, a guy who got his teeth smashed in during his match, went back to the hotel and went to sleep with kicked in teeth and a dryed up bloody mouth, and waited until the morning to go the dentist. That is tough

  • Everytime I see Donny Osmond on tv, I shoot the tv.....LOL!

  • i never appreciated ivan back in the day but he was awesome on the mic. one of the best

  • Back when watching wrestling was actually entertaining--and the wrestlers had some brains. Good childhood memories for me.

  • I love it when Gordon tells Piper"you never seize to amaze me"

  • must have been hard not to laugh at 1:22 for Solie

  • Watch Morocco sell that punch. Wrestlers today do not sell like that anymore.

  • They fine me so much I came in with a pocket full of money and walk out with my underwear! Classic Piper!

  • I'm shocked Vince didn't bring in Solie just so he could interview Piper

  • @Mp25DIII I'll bet the problem was that Solie was working for multiple NWA promotions at that time(Florida for sure, maybe a few others, and JCP brought him in for Starcade 83).Truthfully,If I was Vince and had a choice between Solie and Okerlund,it would be Solie.

  • Give me Piper over Hogan or Flair anyday.

  • Ole was never successful as a leader anyway

  • Ole got caught by Flair

  • piper has admitted on a pro wrestling documentary with bryant gumbell that he took too many drugs but ole got caught too

  • working angles, building heat towards a big live showdown...lost art...everything these days is instant gratification...build a great storyline and incredible heat for a feud thru tv shows and house matches...I miss those Sat. night TBS shows...I miss good jobbers too...bring back the Mulkeys!

  • @psychlyst That's part of the problem with wrestling today. Instead of a few big shows a year, they're trying to have 117 big shows a year (Raw x 52 wks, SD x 52 wks, and about 13 PPV's a year). Throw in NXT and Superstars and you have WWE's biggest problem: oversaturation.

  • @TheJohnnyCotts As great as the Monday Night Wars were it was even worse when you had ECW, WWE & WCW all having weekly television (WCW/WWE w/ 2 a piece) shows plus pay per views. It was like wrestling 24/7 back then. It's like any sport, even most of the biggest fans and atheletes alike need a break from it every now and then to keep enthusiastic and keep things fresh. Now it just sucks because WWE has no competition and it's still over exposed with no need to put out "the better product".

  • Roddy Piper was the man everywhere he went, no doubt about it. However, when he was in the studios at WTBS, he was THE icon. Heel or face, the heat or pop he'd get from the fans was priceless!

  • hmmm. 1st he decides to be anti-armstrong.then he messes around with the rulebreaking contingent.no offense to you piper fans, but why does he decide to be anti-fan favorite one moment, then change the way he feels about his former allies the next?could someone please clue me in?i mean no harm,i`m just a bit lost on piper`s reasoning, here

  • @waynec38 Muraco was berating Gordon Solie and Roddy was trying to calm him down. When Muraco backhanded him and then went after Solie,Roddy went ballistic and attacked Muraco.Piper clearly drew the line at assaulting commentators so he became a face.

  • @bull705 ok. i can understand THAT. but why coldcock anderson?

  • Hot Rod was one of the most entertaining guys ever to lace up wrestling boots lol.

  • GOD,,,,,, DON'T YOU MISS THESE GOOD OLD DAYS AS MUCH AS I DO ????? WHEN I TRY TO SHOW MY OLD CLIPS LIKE THIS 1 TO MY YOUNGER NEFEW'S & SONS THERE NOT INTERESTED IN IT,,,,,JUST CENA,,,,,,& I WANNA CRY.....PIPER WAS & IS WRESTLING....

  • LOL, Roddy's brain was working faster than his mouth could keep up with. I often wonder why there's not much stuff like this in todays wrestling and I finally know the answer. Ain't nobody as good as these guys were - period.

  • Piper should have also gotten into stand up.

  • This is great !

  • This is when WRESTLING was WRESTLING,when it was Sports Entertainment.

PIPER got fired in November '82 but cam came in early Spring '83 for big matches

vs BUZZ SAWYER. Say dalegrow! please show more GEORGIA-WCW from the

    70's,'80's and early 90's. Peace.

  • No one did it better on the mike than hot Rod.

  • "I'm like Shirley Temple...hello, how are you?" LOL

  • No one has ever out done the Hot Rod!

  • Who was the wrestler who pinned Muraco in the ring before he got cold-cocked by PIper with the coins?

  • @kenpalmer1965 Tommy Rich

  • @kenpalmer1965 Tommy Rich.

  • When brute stength, tuff guys and great mic skills ruled the squared circle. These are not Dusty, Orton and Hart's sons.

  • Piper was simply the greatest...outside of some guys like Hogan and Flair,Piper's legacy was right there.Even when you hated him,he was still the best..So fun to watch.

  • I must have missed this confrontation. Did that lead to a match between the two of them later? I will assume this is when Ole Anderson was a heel.

  • So Ole fires him and then he goes back to Mid Atlantic. Wasn't Ole booking both territories at the time?

  • PIPER IS THE MAN!!!

  • way to go ole fire the meal ticket!

  • ole was punked like the real life bitter bitch that he is. Anyone who sticks up for ole is a piece of pathetic ignorant crap themselves...

  • classic piper solie banter. If only he would have stayed in nwa. You know up here in oregon and in washington this guy is an institution and a true legend...

  • @lockenjr I remember after Piper left WWF and him working in Pacific Northwest. I seem to recall him in a feud with the Grappler for a while.

  • "Waaaait a minute"

  • No Xontar02,this is weeks after PIPER

saved SOLIE from Muraco. If only OLE &

PIPER had ptched things up.Just think of

PIPER doing his Piper's Pit stuff through

    WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING!.

  • WWE should put out a History of Georgia Championship Wrestling. Just all of the old angles and matches before the Crocket takeover.

  • Is this before or after Piper saved Solie from Muraco on TV? Maybe even the same show? It looks like Solie has the same suit on that he had during the Muraco angle.

  • Afterwards... He was fired right after this. The sad thing was that Roddy had a feud lined up coming up with Jerry Lawler.

  • Then the cowardly lion aka ole anderson screwed him...

  • it was definitely after the Piper/Muraco/Solie incident

  • I was there at the Omni in Atlanta when Piper slugged Muraco with the fistful of quarters.

  • Yeah, that was a cool angle. I remember seeing it on TV.

  • All added reasons why these silly storylines they use today were never needing.

  • Ole Anderson & Roddy Piper 2 of the greatest heel ever.

Magnificent Muraco was a great heel too.

  • ole didnt have to work at being a good hell, ole was just a piece of shit, dont believe, watch the rise and fall of wcw and see how many guys at best say ole was "difficult" or just flat out say he was an asshole

  • I was planning on picking up this DVD set soon.

  • its pretty good, least its more fair to the wcw then expected, but when ole was briefly mentioned as being the booker for wcw everyone interviewed pretty much said ole was an asshole, teddy longcant stand him at all, on an episode of legends of wrestling on wwe 24/7 teddy mentioned how in the when ole ran georgia championship wrestling, he thought nothign of refering to black wrestlers by the N word, so its fair to say ole isnt missed in the wrestling business

  • just seein hot rod knock ole the hell out made me favourite this!

  • agreed. ole anderson the man and the wrestler is a world class prick.

  • So Piper went back to Mid Atlantic after this and Muraco went back to WWF

  • wow, piper cracked solie

  • This is why Piper was THE MAN! We all how about is lengendary antics as a heel, but in my opinion, he was just as great as a babyface.

  • The incident between ole and roddy walked a careful and creative line between work and shoot. By his own admission in the wwe born to controversy dvd Piper no showed some towns and got a lot of heat from ole and jim barrnet. Ole claimed to fire piper for the same reason along with showing up at house shows high as a kite.

  • yeah and ole was a bitch as they all know. Ole had a big mouth and was mostly all talk. I have heard some stories and not second hand either about was a coward and no talent ole was. I dont care how high or drunk piper was you dont fire or tell the hot rod what to do...

  • Piper should have had Ole;'s job as Ole was the biggest reason for the demise of the nwa territories along with mcmahon...

  • Lochenjr.....I had been feeling for a while now....that all cops were confused, powerhungry, peter puffing,faggotts.....after reading your comments on this page,i'm convinced of it.

Back in the day....Ole would have put your pussy ass in the ring, and left you crippled.

Ole Anderson was one of the last of the old breed of legit "wrestlers" He challenged alot of people who questioned wrestling....and he did not back down....That is a fact....cuz i saw it personally.Listen to Arns shoot

  • Okay, so legends like Piper, Matt Borne aka doink, Bobby Heenan, Ric Flair are just full of shit when they all say the same things about Ole. Listen to Matt Borne;s shoot interview about him.

  • I hear ya.....but i'd more trust what guys like Verne Gagne,Bill Watts, and Stan Hanson have said.....other then early card guys like doink the clown and lanny poffo.Piper (who i liked) couldn't pass a dope test....what do you think he's gonna say about ole?

  • @allstarjeff1 Jack Brisco put Ole in a shoot hold because he badmouthed him. Lanny Poffo also put Ole in his place.

  • @lockenjr who booed me the worst mistake ole maid was not giving the world to piper. Ole went in the shitter cuz of it.

  • was that incident between piper and ole legit? Ole fired piper soon after this segment?

  • No matter what the format, Roddy Piper was one of the best.

  • Hoo-wee! There is more exsitement in

this video than any wwe raw smackdown

    or ppv show put together.Please,more

    GEORGIA-WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP-

  • that must been a big place there
