But how does it stay in the groove? Doesn't centrifugal force make the thing want to fly off as it get's into a tighter radius as it goes further into the album? Anyone understand what I'm sayin'? ........However it works - it's a pretty amazing invention - but thank God this isn't the first way discovered how to playback a record - or we would have been set back years in sound quality. Imagine the challenge in trying to make better and louder speakers for that thing?

Because there's no centrifugal force. ;) The "centrifugal force" is just a thing on round track trying to continue it's previous direction of movement AKA trying to go in straight line. Faster the speed the harder it tries to go in straight line.

Anyway, to answer your question, that tiny car is probably very light and the tires are very soft.
