  • Does it have the same story as the PS1 version?

  • one of my favrioute game on the ds

  • I remember playing this when I was very young so I didn't have any guide at all. I got that puppet in my mailbox but until the very end of the game I didn't know how to get him :( I also missed a lot of the other puppets.

  • jaja que bonito, fue el primer rpg que jugué XD

  • I played both version but then we threw out our PS2 so.. it's waaay harder for boss since you can't move >.<

  • I loved this game on the PS......Will this be coming to GameStop

  • @emogirl123emo if you love the ps version DONT GET THIS ONE they changed it a lot AND removed the english versions of the songs

  • @Xarai I already got it XD its not that bad.....They changed the battle systen, thats the only thing that bothers me......I didn't like most of the English songs, only Cornets songs and evil queen. Its not that bad, I suppose...

  • @Xarai Well I doubt most people still have a PSO so I would highly recomend getting the DS version if you loved it, however, I agree with you about the english songs being removed after all they were already translated. God I got a sudden rush of nostalgia come over me just now...it hurts so good.

  • If you guys want to support an English release of the sequels, google: Marl Kingdom sequels NIS" and post on the request forum.

It can happen, as NISA is ready to support it.... but Japan is not convinced it will sell in English countries. Support the cause :3 I wanna see sequels happen too~

  • This game I doubt if it cames to Europe, in Spain, no.

But this ds port yes, and I don't doubt it to buy it cause I wanted to play ^O^

  • If I remember correctly, Cornet was thought to be off of Alice Margatroid from the Touhou Project.

  • i love this game soooo much...especially Marjoly!! ^_^ i used to play this on my PS

  • Ooh me too :D

the ds one is just like the ps one!! which is great cause I dont have a ps anymore

  • I didn't like the fact that, once I'd gotten past a certain point, I couldn't go back and get puppets that I was supposed to get at that particular point! -A- So I only have 6 puppets, I want more, I can't get 'em unless I restart the game, BLAAAAAAAGH.

Otherwise, very fun, and the music was great~ ^^

  • I really loooove this game sooo much meow~

  • but in my oppinion i rather not have this game.

cause its too easy to beat.

cause im only a hardcore type of gamer, but this game is good ( how ironic that theyshould make an anime of this game cause the game is too easy )

  • @masterkill107 Easy! It took me, like, a year to finish!

  • @elgooglia ... and you should open your mind, i was about to insult you really hard but i think you wrote all of that trash because you´ve been brainwashed.

  • You big silly.

  • i remember this game i was playing when i am in elementary and i got all the puppets and monsters i could get in sum town i remembered a snowy town wer there is a house that u will enter then u could get unlimited potion wel that's what i know in my game but i had lot's of money that time so it's useless 4 me.

  • I have this game and I really enjoyed it.

I did feel that there were some (in my opinion) annoying factors in it though such as finding myself lost and not knowing where I was supposed to go or what I was supposed to do next, or the fact that some of the dungeon felt very repetitive due too being made of almost identical looking rooms.

But overall, I still think that it was a pretty fun RPG. :)

  • Its a awesome game finished it in 2days. XD

  • @CartoonDraw Can you help me on some boss? Oh pretty pretty please with cherries and sugar on top >_<

    ._.

  • It has been a while since I played it so I don't really remember how I did everything too well. You just have to keep training I think. I remember getting stuck on the heart boss? - It was like when you're inside a monster and you have to kill the heart, It's not that boss by any chance?

  • @CartoonDraw

I remember that particular boss, is it the right heart your having trouble with or is it the main heart?

  • @LilDemona No, I completed the game, I just found it a hard boss. I don't remember what heart it was, It's been a year since I played it :L

  • @CartoonDraw IN TWO DAYS! i must be playing it wrong

  • jurava que tinha algo a ver com a banda rhapsody >_>'

  • shaushuahsuahsuahs quase uhaushushauhs

  • i have this game and its SUPER! i stll didnt beat Marjoly!

  • This game is so cliched, in Japanese, and is sosooo easy, has a lot of cutscenes, and barely any game time. I LOVE IT!!

  • I stlil have this game for my PS ^_^' I am surprised though, I didn't think it did well here the first time.

  • oh no what should we do! says cornet.

dont worry i got my trusty trumpet horn thingy!!! ferdinand replies! :D

    game looks disturbingly cool..

  • Jeez Ferdinand, just kill your way out, you have a sword.

  • He was turned into stone by Marjoly ^^;;

  • sing and dance and fight

    thats scary dont you think??

  • ah not more Atluuusss USA~~~ ?? lol!!! kindda thought that was funny

  • so is it a good game?

  • Hyper: Yes, it's a good game, the lyrics to the songs are in Japanese, but they subs are from the PS1 game. But I remember this game back when I was a kid. and it's still a good game

  • Ah, i did end up buying back when i asked about it, and i love it too, tho it seemed a lil short for me, so im lvling my characters to 60 to just over power the final boss like no other lol, being cheap is fun lawl.

  • ...hey does anyone who has been playing and been to the part with alfred and his dog turning into a puppet..can u help me? I CANT FIND ALFRED! T.T

  • they look like that changed it a lot they even got rid of the original gameplay it looks like o.O *for the battle system*

  • TRUE! I got it the same day it came out and it was not the same! The humming she did was gone, the "old maid~" audio was gone and you cant even move o.o, you just attack in place!

    still like the game. X3

  • ...Is it just me or did they put more cloths on the sorceress then she had in the game o.O

  • thats what i thought!

  • waa i cant find it :(

  • Nostalgy...

  • Great! I hate American dubs. The game looks great. But why are they all blond? xD

  • in the ps1 cornet is brown well sorta

  • I hope they have the option of the japanese sound track.

I love this game though! It's kinda sad they didn't keep it a strategy rpg...

  • The only thing that exists is the Japanese soundtrack. There is no English vocals, only JP vocals with subs. They stated that since there were new songs and they couldn't get the original actors back together they didn't re-record it, but it also could've been them saving a little money. Not really sure.

  • It's actually a matter of rights. They actually don't OWN the American songs anymore....as stupid as that is. There is plenty of room, they COULD have put them on for kicks or as an extra but nope.

  • I have to say, that sounds a little odd and doesn't really make much sense to me. Is there a link or something you could provide? Because I can't even formulate how they could lose the rights. I know that Atlus USA brought over the game originally, but their relationship is quite good. And there's really not enough space for both tracks (it'd be pushing it if it could fit).

  • Nippon Ichi is publishing the game, NOT Atlus. Atlus has he rights. Probably factors into why they toned DOWN the fun battle system as well but oh well. Don' ask me WHY Atlus would suddenly become jerks about it, I suspect it was just cheaper to use the original Japanese.

  • Uh, yes I know that NISA is publishing it. I'm stating that Atlus USA and NISA's relationship is pretty great (Atlus even handled the distribution of this game), and considering Nippon Ichi developed the game in Japan, Atlus USA had nothing to do with why the game had the battle system changed. Due to their good relationship as publishers, there's no logic in saying Atlus USA would prevent NISA from using the English versions of the songs.

  • It's not a matter of logic it's a matter of fact. You assume a lot and yet here we are, English trackless. There was PLENTY of room, we ALL know it.

  • How is it fact? You're completely assuming things by trying to implicate Atlus somehow in the loss of the English track. Also, we don't 'all' know it, because I think you'd need something to back up your claims like actual comparisons of size. You need the size of the actual DS cartridge used, and how much space is currently being used on release, and then add the space needed for the English VA. If you don't have that, you're just making false claims.

  • Vedelminashigo:

    BETTER IN JAPANESE, TRUST ME!!

  • Goddamn. It's been out for a week and I still don't have it. T.T I'm freakin' exstatic.

  • Kinda turns me off that it is not a strategy anymore...

  • is this worth my time?

or should i get that new sonic game for DS?

  • played this on playstation, it was awesome

  • its almost the 23 and i havent seen this on tv yet

  • From my experience, I've *never* seen an ad for a NIS game on TV. Ever. :/

  • Yah, most of the time NIS games are expected by lots and lots of gamers, so they don't really need to pay for TV publicity, they let the internet do it's thing :D!

  • so true, I was camping the clock for Disgaea 3's release and new about it a year ahead of time.

  • Intresting. I do like the change to the batle system. it looks similar to that of the second game in the series

  • i loved this game as a child and they kept everything the same! its going to get good reviews

  • Only thing different that I know of so far is that it's now turn based fighting system rather than the strategy type that was in the PS version.

  • Hey! I've won the game yesterday (play 1 version) and couldn't find what to do with the item "Darkstone". You find this item at the end of the game, more precisely at Netherworld. Does anyone anything about this? :S

  • I never got this when it first came out. I'll be picking this up. I hope they decide to port and localize the other Marl Kingdom games too.

  • NIS has stated a while ago that if this title sells well, they'll consider bringing the other games in the series to the DS. So here's hoping!

  • Oh so they did say that, awesome! That's what I was thinking on when I first heard about this coming to the DS. I've always wanted to play the other games.

  • OMG! rhapsody?....yay!

    i love dis game!!! i can't wait!!

  • I really loved the PS One version, though i'm a little disappointed they replaced the battle feature...

  • Hmm. Looks good. Never played the PS One version, but I may give it a chance.

  • yay

  • i wonder if they will make a two for the ds also?

  • D; I wish instead they'd do the second game.

    Instead of re-releasing the first.

  • If they released the second one, there would be a high chance that it would sell poorly, because many people didn't pay much attention to the first. By remaking it, there's a better chance that it will sell better, since the market's a little different now. Maybe then will they localize the rest?

  • Hum, you've got a good point.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see, ja?

  • hahaha, I remember playing this on the PS1 when I was kid. I love the way Cornet and Etoile always fights.

  • AWESOME!

    I love this game.
