  • First season was fantastic! Second season was crap. But that was because they got rid of all the good writers and others. Sort of what happened to The Outer Limits during it's first run back in the 60's.

  • What's the name of the blonde chick? She has a nice ass @ 1:17.

  • COULD. NOT. WATCH this as a kid, those alien scenes scared the shit outta me…even in the daylight. I was seeing things for years after that (it certainly didn't help that my grandfather's old workshop was extra creepy at night and I had the only window facing it). Even now, if things are too quiet, I turn on the tv or the radio. I own both sets of DVDs now, and I'm braver than before, able to recognize the cheesiness, but part of me is STILL afraid of the dark because of this

    :)

  • has someone uploaded it complete on youtube?

  • Wish they'd make them again after all the made new episodes of the old series V.

  • Awsome ,i watched it when i was jus10 years old,..........it use to come at 8pm in pakistan state television, but after jus 3 episodes people were scared so much that the goverment changed the timing to 11.30 PM....

  • war of the worlds was tv series?

  • @Knuxsu2015 Yes, but it only ran for two seasons.

  • The whole world didn't remember an ALIEN INVASION because of "Selective Amnesia". Even if you are a fan of the show, you have to admit, that is REALLY farfetched.

  • Soooo glad I picked this up on DVD. It scared the shit out of me as a kid, I would wake up in the night and imagine alien hands coming from the closet because of scenes like this. It was a good show though, a little hokey, but could have been the x-files of the 80s I think.

  • This was a great series, indeed!..but the 3 color alien vision was murder for the eyes!

  • 1:09 hahahahahaha, that's why I loved this show when I was kid. Because of scenes like that!!!

  • Dude, Martian Special Forces Team...silent and deadly....!

  • I think Season 1 is on DVD but did Season 2 ever come out? Can you order the DVD's at HMV?

  • @fucknametheives Season 2 finally did come out last October, 5 years after the release of Season One. Picked it up the other day at Best Buy. It was nice to actually see the episodes in good quality, as so many of them were dark in the literal sense.

  • Those aliens are still scary, even 21 years after I first saw them!

  • I adored this series when it was on.

  • @fucknametheives A lot of us did. Great to hear from another fan.

  • @Prometheo1 Good to hear from another WOTW fan as well.

  • @Prometheo1 I was a huge fan, I loved the movie and this series was a must watch with my parents.

  • Ahh...I love it. The aliens were truely creepy, and the Advocacy was definately a sinister lot. Truely an awesome series. I wish they'd pick it up again and continue it, not a mickey mouse remake either, but merely a continuation.

  • @TomRiker01 I totally agree!

  • a very underrated series.

  • lol terrorists are getting attacked by aliens

  • Fabulous series, very respectful towards the 1953 movie, even the way the 'Morthrens' see was the same! Love it, such a shame it was made during the writers strike. Would have been great to see it gradually develop over more series. I still dream of a new TV movie happening, to bridge series 1 and 2. Ah well :)

  • Does anyone remember a sci fi/ horror

show that came on either immediately before or after this show? I'm not sure if it was even on the same network, but I remember watching War of the Worlds

back to back with this other show Friday nights when I was a kid. The only thing I remember clearly about it is a bunch of swarming bumblebees during the opening credits. I know it's not much but if anyone can help I'd appreciate it because it's driving me nuts. Thanks.

  • This series had nothing to do with the 2005 Tom Cruise remake, did it?

  • I don't think so. But the War of the Worlds TV series itself does seem to be inspired by Scientology.

  • @aigomar Other than they share source material with the H.G. Wells story, no. This television is a sequel of sorts to the 1953 movie, which it too shares the same source story as the Tom Cruise film.

  • @aigomar ...no it doesnt have to do with 2005 movie..i remember watching that series in our childhood and it used to be our fav. series...

  • I loved the show but the second season turned me off

  • Ditto - 2nd season was utter crap. It all started with the real genius move of killing off Richard Chaves's (Col. Ironhorse) character during the 2nd season opener (great move guys).

  • This show was great. I watched it until it stopped being syndicated. So happy to see it again.

  • Glad to know there are others who appreciate this series.

It's funny that it starts off with a group of international terrorists. Even funnier that one of the terrorists is named Masoud. He's the first one to get taken over by the alien. Also interesting because Islam absorbs its enemies and takes on their appearance.

  • Yeah it used to freak me out. I led a sheltered life. I liked season 1 better. Ilike 2 better now, because the first is on DVD now. Now I can judge 2 on it's own merits.

They didnt have sylvia and mrs. Pennyworth.

Whats interesting is this was afew short years before more people in Us. became suspicious about the government Y know like the X files. WotW skirts some of the same subjects if I remember correctly.

    Thjanks for the post.

  • That's an interesting point you make about how this series was ahead of the X Files and had similar plot lines. Maybe WotW helped shape the X Files audience. That would be an interesting research paper. There's a lot of duplication across all the popular sci-fi. Robert Anton Wilson pointed out that all the UFO and conspiracy-based stuff was really nothing but medieval fears of witches, devils, and demons. At the bottom of the human psyche is nothing but raw fear that's easily provoked.

  • @Prometheo1 maybe however the psychogical theory you present,(while a highly scientific one). Doesnt explain the real world sigthings,(eye witness accounts, film, stills, even government recordings),of a real alien presence. While alot of fear does play a role. It doesnt explain the physical aspect of ufos or "smoking gun" evidence of conspiracies

  • @gamervideos11 True enough - there's a lot of objective evidence that something's going on. But none of it proves an extraterrestrial source. That's a marketing (propaganda) spin.

More likely that it's simply advanced human technology. Generating fear of (and anxiety about) off-planet aliens serves the interests of the supra-national power elite. And it makes for some great books, magazines, tv shows, & films.

    Rabbi Cardozo's talk on ETs is worth a listen at w w w . 613 . org /cardozo . html

  • @Prometheo1 I do believe in the (NWO, or other elite power groups out there.) I also believe that since these groups exist. The alien presence would contact them as opposed to say Obama. In order to operate on planet(earth). I think that the conspiracy reaches so many levels and runs so deeply in various directions. It is really amazing when you start learning this stuff as well a disturbing. I for one started 30 years ago,.....investigating Taxes and REX 84

  • @gamervideos11 It's likely there's intelligent life on many other planets in Universe, but unlikely the things we see & read about are from off-planet.

More likely: these devices are human-made & the global elites have invested a great deal of time & money in psyops trying to convince us there are aliens, ghosts, etc.

From my perspective, there are as many conspiracies as there are human beings, but some have lasted longer & have a bigger budget.

613 org Cardozo ETs worth a listen

  • @Prometheo1 I myself agree there are alot of conspiracies. However I cant deny the "other worldly" feel and look to alot of what is seen and photographed. not to mention radar hits ect. I myself have run afoul with "agents" of the NWO so to say. So I know they are as you say real. I also believe that some of the alien(ufos) are our own stuff. However I also believe that there is real alien involvement on planet earth and probally has always been. Considering accounts from history.

  • @Prometheo1 Most important is that ppl like you and I that are more in the know then a majority of the public. Strive to find the truth. Its a continuing puzzle I myself have been involved in for over 30 years. You may want to look at some of Whitley Striebers early books into the alien events and see the evolution of his stance on what he experianced in later works. Plus the works of John Mack, ect (there are so many solid ones). Ty for the link btw hope my info will prove useful to u as well

  • Too bad there weren't interviews or behind the scenes of series. I guess this is before the days of comedy roasting of television shows.

Like when alien uses massouds voice. Ilsa (

    female terrorist) answer me?

Alien speaks incomprehencibly. She should answer, yeah, I cut down abit. (Stewies line from Family guy).

  • Very good! Have you seen the series? The first and second seasons are very different. Both good in their own right.
