Nope, I don't believe you can unfortunately due to the subtle differences in the way the cases are (for example, the psp 3000 has a flat backside, while the psp 1000 has those two bumps in the back).
Yeah, that one can be tough to remove. Make sure you put pressure onto the screw while unscrewing it. If you're changing the case, I believe you can just rip the plastic edge/case (if the screw is stripped, like in the video). Although, its best to use a broken psp's case, rather than those cheap ones on ebay (the cheapo ones will not fit correctly)
Place your psp laying down with the screen facing up. Place it on a hard surface (like a table), near the edge. Now place a small towel ontop of the psp. press down on the psp, will putting pressure on the screw (make sure your putting pressure on the edges of the psp, not on the screen, and make sure it isn't a ton of pressure). If the screwdriver slips, you either hit the table, or the towel. Make sure your screwdriver's handle is big
Please respond to this sir but my headphone jack is weird it plays music but sounds weird with headphones in it sounds like an instumental...and my d-pad buttons are acting weird too please respond i love my psp and would hate to have to sell it :l
You can purchase a headphone port to replace your current one. As for the d-pad, you can try to clean out the d-pad and the contact pad and see if that'll get it to work, if not, you might have to replace that part as well.
Sir, um my O button for the psp 3000 has stopped working today when i checked my game was sort of acting weird and when i restarted my psp, my O button wasnt working. SO can you please do a video on how to fix the O buttons for the PSP please and send me the link? Thank you
It could be that the rubber part under the button has broken. Does the button feel normal like the other buttons? The contact pad underneath may be dirty, try giving it a clean and see if that helps it out. If you have a hacked psp, it might be a hack issue (try resetting your psp to it's default settings)
hapend 2 me same button all yuh gota do is peel off da metalic part of a gumrapper fold it in 2 or 3 i did 3 (deppends on how sensative yuh want da button 2 b). slide it UNDER da sticker (only on da damaged button side) and den press da sticker down so it lays on top of the gum rapper. did it to mine n its ben working like new for almost 2 yearz now. i might make a video soon.. its very easy took me 4 minutes hardpart is peelin off the metalic part from da rapper
it might be worth mentioning that when you attempt to lift the button bar from LCD screen you may find that the screw to the left of the button bar (the one that attaches the metallic strip to the bottom of the psp) also bolts the button bar to the rest of the psp, i ended up badly scratching the side of my button bar b4 i found that out. =(
Hi, would this be similar to opening a psp 2000. I brought a psp 2000 second hand, but want to replace the whole casing, the videos here qre bad quality, you is far by the best I have seen so is the principal the same, I mean the 3000 should be similar to the 2000.
For some reason, some memory sticks fit in too tight compared to others (I had this happen several times in my 1000 model, not sure if they fixed it in the other revisions). If I remember correctly, I would use a thin pair of tweezers to pull out the memory card. If still not able to, you'll have to take the whole thing apart.
The problem is that i have replaced opening_plugin.rco from flash0 i think that's why when i start my psp the green light is turning on and the psp's screen came up with a little bit light but there's no display. If the flash0 is stored in any memory card inside psp then u please tell me so that i can take it out and replace it's data with the backup i have. I had a temporary cfw installed before this happened
hey friend i have a semi bricked psp 3000. Is there any kind of internal memory card which saves flash0,flash1 etc. so that i will take it out and replace the with the backup.......
Hmm, I'm not sure. I have the 1000 model, and hacked it back during the 1.50 fw days, so I'm out of the loop when it comes to the newer methods. Did your psp have a custom fw installed before semi-bricking? If so, you should be able to restore it back to normal by getting into the emergency menu (hold R when turning on). I had my psp semi-brick a couple years back and that's how I got it back into shape.
I have a site that I can PM you that takes you to a helpful forum
Wait, so where does this metal bar go? I just recently took apart my PSP 3000, and it just popped on out, like it wanted to say hello. Lol. I can't find it in the video.
WHY IS IT EVERY TIME SOMEONE DOES ONE OF THESE REBUILD VIDEOS IT EITHER POORLY LIT, BLURRY, OR THEY MUMBLE THE WHOLE TIME. HEY GENIUS SPEAK UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They can be a little finicky, but are not too bad taking out. You just want to be careful though, since the plastic on this pieces is pretty thin and can easily break.
@Treasurefan02 ahh i see, i plan on replacing the silver frame with a red frame as part of my customization to my PSP 3000, though this is my first time doing so, i know i'll be careful since i study your videos and other peoples lol
i was wondering about that metal bar that goes at the top of the psp like you stated... does the bar cover over the top of the screen to hold it in place or does it stop the screen from sliding around? and secondly i heard that if you put wrong screws in the battery holes it will crack the screen or something
Yep, I believe that bar holds the screen in place. I'm not sure about cracking the screen, but you can end up cracking the thin pieces of plastic near the holes. You also run the risk of getting the screw stuck halfway into the hole. Make sure to use the right screws and screwdriver.
@rheantot14 its easy... if its already broken you have nothing to worry about. i fixed 2 of my ipods, my phone and my psp just by taking it apart and fixing stuff
Sounds like your LCD screen is busted. You can get replacement screens on ebay. Just be very, very careful when installing it though. I accidentally busted one by pressing to hard on it. Those suckers are quite sensitive. Always handle it by gripping the sides of it, and don't try to force it in.
Um hi there, I have a problem with my psp 3000 where the d-pad moves up, down repeatedly and I can't control anything in the menu because it seems like a button is stuck, soooo, I unscrewed the PSP, cleaned the d-pads and whatnot, then after a piece of long thin metal with F1 on it fell out, I screwed it back into place, turn it on and same problem, do you know what I have to do, and is the F1 piece neccesary? Please respon ASAP I need help quickly
I'm not technically savy (this disassembly vid is about as far as my knowledge extends), but it could be that something is messed up with the mobo. Other possibilities:
- Ribbon cable not fully attached
- That long bar just keeps the lcd screen in place I believe
- The sticker pad for the d-pad may need cleaning/or is damaged
- The rubber part right under the D-pad may be ripped/damaged
@Treasurefan02 well, I'm going to a tech place tomorrow to see if I can get it fixed because I know now that it has to be electrical, and the long bar, well, I'll keep it in a safe place, but it really is not necessary ^_^ The LCD screen sits fine without it and it just fell out anyways so, yeah. My psp just has a wiring problem everything else works fine though. Although, if they can't fix the wiring problem, I'll have to buy a new one, which is inconvenient and stupid DAMN YOU SONY!!!
Err.. i just wanna switch my black psp's front part with my white psp's front part.... do i just do what you did to take off your front part and then screw it back in? Please reply...
The psp3000 is pretty aweful for cracking screens. I had one which I used, broke fixed only to have it break again.
The other machiens aren't much better though. Psp2000 wasn't much better. the parts wore out like the umd reader, and usb port. psp1000 works but it huge with a blurry screen,
I wonder what system I'll rest oin for posterity sake.
Wait.. Is there a video that you made or someone made to re-assemble it?
