The comment (by wife while on my account & why she took it down) was why are you blaming the Forest Service? FS wants to manage trees but is responsible for upholding all federal laws. What about all the foresters put out of work for following the same rules? When (if) you talked to the FS... did they say cutting trees was bad? You can't pick the thing you like and ignore everything else. Go after the law - not the managers just trying to keep their jobs. Not a tree hugger...
@City4ster We freely admit that all Forest service people are not bad, but the spineless top echelons that sit back and do not fight for what they know is right have allowed this to happen. Our hats are off to those trying to do thier jobs, but we must bring attention to the plight of the PEOPLE in the areas affected, as well as that of an owl. Peoples lives need to be the priority, I am sure the owl will find another tree if his is disturbed.
@City4ster If there's more than 1% good guys in the Forest Service, I'd be very surprised. I fought the Hayman (largest fire in Colorado history - set by a FS employee and NOT as a prescribed burn) and the total incompetence of incident management was a real eyeopener. Among many other things, the feds tried to stop us local firefighters from doing our jobs, but they were forced to back down.
And who is going to clean up the mess these people will leave? The county ? Does it have the resources to manage the forest? Dont forget this Congressman passed laws that he is now breaking.....
@City4ster We are not sure where your comment went, But you are welcome to repost it.............Being called a moron from a tree hugger is like a compliment........
About damn time somebody stood up to these tyrannical SOBs!
That said, I think it's important to admit unpleasant truths, and show when we've learned a lesson. I'll never forget the sight - back in the'80s - of ENTIRE MOUNTAINS that had been COMPLETELY denuded. It made me SICK! - And there's no reason or excuse for it.
That said, THIS is at least as bad, I think WORSE!
NO REASON why good mgt., selective harvest, etc. should not be allowed.
I wish to God that I was there with you two. Cut one down for me if ya would. It's getting closer and closer, we can feel it. God bless and keep you and yours.III
Don't let em get away with it y'all know how the use wildlife and wilderness to get there real agenda in.Your doing a great job your on top of it best of luck guys.

Good luck guys. Be careful. You are living in a new era nearly devoid of rule of law.
