The results wouldn't have been the same because in incapable qb that never played before took an absolutely demoralized team to a 3 point deficit with 3 min remaining.. then he goes and fumbles and sealed the deal. Also this year is a rebuilding year for texas... yeah they suck massive ass and haven't done this bad in 10 years.. but they also have 11-12 starting freshman.

@kingali4life That's a myth. Alabama had an average passing game and elite running game all year long. Plus, in the first half, Alabama couldn't pass the ball for beans - they could barely even get a pass off (4 sacks in about 10 dropbacks IIRC), but their running game was destroying the Texas defense. So, obviously they were going to come out running the ball in the 2nd half - but when they did and got stopped, they were somehow just trying to sit on their lead?

Cause ok you are right, they couldnt pass for shit, but that makes running the ball a bad decision why? i mean if my passing game isnt working im going to the next best thing in running, if that works then ill keep running until the defense stops me, and if im in the lead in the second half, im putting my team on defense, not trying to run up the score, just get out with a win and in this case a National Title...common sense.

Their passing game wasn't working, and their running game was, so it made sense for them to come out in the 2nd half running the ball almost every play. It was their best move. But you said earlier it was them "thus not trying to score", which doesn't make sense. Passing for them would have been trying to not score.

@goofy775 Ok that's just stupid. His arm was numb. You can't pass a football accurately with a completely numb arm when you can't even feel the ball touching your hand. Plus it could be knocked out by a defender from behind and if only your arm was touched, you wouldn't even know that it had happened.

Weird how many hard hits McCoy took and yet he got knocked out by a hit that was no different than hundreds of others because it happened to somehow pinch off some nerves.

@goofy775 It's not relevant, but I graduated from UT. Link where Colt said "Dad wouldn't let me play, but I could have done fine". For 1 thing there's no way Mack would allowed it. For a 2nd, if he was really good to play, then he wouldn't have been messing up his pro career. For a 3rd, Colt said in an interview after the game that his arm was completely dead, which means he wasn't good to play. For a 4th, plenty of people reported him throwing warmup passes and they were all way off target
