For anyone who hates Gael, you can go hide in a corner in shame. As far as I'm concerned, Gael has the most athleticism out of any professional player out there; take a look at him in a match, almost everytime he will get to the ball. Secondly, he has the most determination out of any other player, just take a look at how he plays and some interviews. Finally, he plays with the most heart. For instance, he mentions in an interview that the main reason he plays is to make is family proud.

he is athletic, but his stamina isnt too good. the way he got so tired in his match against nadal last night was too bad. he couldnt withstand rallies and ended up going for winners off a lot of balls and making stupid errors because he couldnt stay in points. if he could maintain his level of play from the first set for the entirety of the match, he could easily be top 5

he isn't screwing around...hihi... when you train you always aim for a spot... his aim was to put them short on the left and on the right...the best volleys are when you absorbe the power of a shot and leave it short...it is very very difficult to give back even if you manage to arrive to the ball...

I have exactly the same quirk with my wrist on my forehand that he does. Watch closely on three-quarter front view and you can see it. Gael obviously manages to sort it out and have a laid back wrist through contact. Unfortunately mine is more eratic.

Gael is such a show off sometimes. I don't mind it but it makes him very distracted during his practice sessions. He's not focused when there are people watching him. He's such an immature fella, but when he steps onto a court for a real match, he does tidy up a bit. I just wish he would tidy up just a little on the practice court. He could really make himself a great player. But I dont' wanna make him too tidy. One of his unique chracteristics is his eccentricity.

ive noticed how monfils hits his forehand. notice how the racquet edge is cutting through the ball in his forehand followthrough. sort of like federer's. his palm faces down alot when hitting his forehand followthrough. like a "millenium forehand" in the ACE system of tennis.
